Yes, agree. The haters are actually totally obsessed with Trump. They are drawn to his persona and can't ignore it. He is their god who they fear may destroy them. Those who support Trump are not obsessed with him as a person but by his policies and what good he can do.

Do you know of any academic papers which discuss Trump Derangement Syndrome? I'm beginning to think that Trump is the parental authority figure and the haters are rebellious children who can't reason like adults but can only call others horrible names and have tantrums. How can these people have any serious relationships when they can't abide those who have different points of view? How can they cope in an intimate relationship with a real person who may disagree? How can they function in polite society?
