Probably but in my case having been single for so long I must admit I find it frustrating that I spend so much time online, but it staves off the loneliness whilst searching and waiting.
I'm absolutely certain my net activities would be vastly reduced if I were in a relationship because I'd have somebody to banter with for real.
It is just so frustrating, especially after being led up the garden path many times elsewhere. I guess we all have been through that but it doesn't make the search and waiting any easier to deal with.
This "can people read?" issue is something I've pondered over many times and have put to use. I usually state certain facts about myself in my profile and if I get a mail that fails to refer to anything I mention in my profile, then I'll bin it.
A common one is I state that I'm looking to meet and hear from UK residents only and very often I'd get many mails from various ladies not in the UK. I have contacted ladies who claimed to live near me only to chat with them to find they don't live where they say on their profile. I instantly give them the boot because how can one build foundations and trust upon a lie?
Not ALL us men are oblivious and ignorant. I make sure I read profiles or mails and mail or reply accordingly. I just think if one is oblivious to what somebody says or writes, then they're not really that interested in the first place.
My names Baz and have just joined here. I made a post on the main forum and didn't realise until a few minutes ago there was also a UK forum, so I thought I'd pop in and say Hi!
I always feel a bit strange doing something like this since at heart I'm a rather quiet guy, but, hey... there you go!
If my profile interests you in any way, then I look forward to maybe hearing from you very soon.
