I saw the same thing when i lived in Sallalah. It seems to be different rules for different people. This is only my opinion but I think a lot of it has to do with how traditional a family is. The origin of the Bhurka is in the Qaran, Allah says that women should dress modestly and not draw attention to themselves, hence all it shows is the eyes.
Like I say this is all down to tradition, however in recent years, the 90's, in such places as Afghanistan, the women were made to wear them for both religious and political reasons.
Im not expert just an informed individual!!!
Still cant se it working in france though. European court will get involved sooner or later!!!
Good suck back there Tallman!!! Id have to say there are some fine looking women in Limerick though!!
In all seriousness, im still not sure why they atually banned burkas?? Ive lived in saudi for a year and its just a cultural thing. Nowadays its up to the woman if she wants to wear a burka or not.
Ill be interested to see how the french enforce this law. Special Burka Police???!!!!!
[quote} i'd believe it, i was going to ask u did u read a book, b4 i saw the last line!!
Yeah i did read plenty of books, most of it crap mind!!
There is no hard and fast rule, its all about a combination of a rake of different gestures. Ive found most of them too subtle to even pick up on.
If he was just giving you "certain" gestures then he just wanted to do the beast with two back
You cant tell if a man wants a relationship, same as a woman. You just have to lay it on the line and ask. (Ladylumps/Sinead can give great advice on that, Hiya sinead )
Look at the body language as a first sign, seriousely. If they mirror your movements then its a VERY good sign. Women playing with their hair or stroking a glass/straw means there interested. Men leaning forward and looking at a womans lips while she's talking, a good sign.
The reason we're conditioned that way is because there is normally more bad than good (I am an optomist, honest). Were programmed as a society to focus on the bad, hell jst watch the news or read a paper. We're bombarded everyday with negative, not posotive, its bound to rub off onto an individual.
The trick is finding the enjoyment out of the surviving. If anyone knows ho to do that then let me know.
And if you notice, most of the famous (dead) poets all had drink/drug problems. Makes you think.....
Theres some really good poems here, well done to everyone. Used to write a lot of poetry years ago, not so much now. Had a few published but mainly I do it because its the best way to get the feelings out without having to talk to someone. Will be glad to share them....
Will I Be Alone Forever?
One glass, one plate, one knife, one fork. A microwave meal for one. Sat at the table drinking a lonely goblet of wine Three empty chairs surround me. The flames of a fire struggle to rise. There is no life here Just one of everything. One phone that never rings. One doorbell that never chimes. One existence thats never experienced. I'm a solitary person in a crowd of millions And i'm left to contemplate. Will I be alone forever?
Oh dear, just found the cork thread. Bit of a downer and cant understand why it happens, but thats people for ya. Not sure if id want the hassle, but will think about organising one in Limerick in the near future, I dont know anyone in Limerick anyway cos i just moved here, so it wouldnt matter if nobody showed up
Would be interested in waterford meet mind, any good hotels
