RE: how do you feel about being approached by men in public.

In my experience it is never the right guy, never the right situation.

The last time a guy approached me in public I was at my dad's first cousins 50th wedding aniversary.

I was sitting at a table near the dance floor watching people dance and all of a sudden I hear a big blustery voice and some guy who had been sitting behind me all night and admiring me asked me to dance.

He may have been looking at me all night but he was behind me so I didn't know he existed. So it was a big turn off to be startled by the guy approaching me so loudly.

Not only that but I am from L.A. and the party was in the Bay Area and my dads cousin introduced me and where I live to the whole crowd over a microphone. So this guy knew where I was from and he chose to make a "L.A." joke anyway! Never disrespect someones hometown.

So ya I hate being stalked and ambushed. If a guy could come up to me all casual like he would another guy and just talk sports or whatever that would be find. But it is always a corny turnoff.

RE: Dating people on this site without pictures

I wouldn't go out with a guy who NEVER posted a pic. But I have contacted guys that didn't have a pic when I saw their profile.... and I must say some of them turned out to be darn hot once they posted the pic. I was an English Lit. major in college so I know how to read into the deeper meaning of what people write. I can kind of visualize if they are my type.

But I will say that people need to realize that some people are new and haven't had a chance to post a pic yet, or have tech problems while posting or changing pics. So be patient.

I remember being on eh-----y.com and while I was just trying to start filling out my profile, guys where already blocking me for not having a photo.

RE: Depression/helpless feelings in men

I'm glad the original poster brought this up. I don't know how it is in other parts of the world, but in the U.S. it seems like every other month there is a national news story about someone snapping and going on a shooting spree. I used to attributed to the way men a socialized and their need to suppress depretion, which there is alot of that going around right now with the bad economy. That was until the latest shooting spree was commited by a female college professor who shot three of her coworkers over the loss of her job. It is getting to the point where this kindof behavior is "normal" yikes! It makes you want to avoid public places.
