Our laws are based on the common laws of the great Britain.
Thomas Jefferson’s letter to Thomas Cooper on February 10, 1814:

"For we know that the common law is that system of law which was introduced by the Saxons on their settlement in England, and altered from time to time by proper legislative authority from that time to the date of Magna Charta, which terminates the period of the common law. . . This settlement took place about the middle of the fifth century. But Christianity was not introduced till the seventh century; the conversion of the first christian king of the Heptarchy having taken place about the year 598, and that of the last about 686. Here then, was a space of two hundred years, during which the common law was in existence, and Christianity no part of it.

What does my race or background have to do with anything? I am not an atheist, meaning that I don’t know if there is or there is not a god. That’s something that we don’t know and we may never know. However, what I do know is that there is no afterlife, and I simply don’t believe in any of the “holy” religions. I don’t believe in Creationism, adam & eve, talking snakes or the holy spirit or any of that stuff.

NO, YOU MISS the point. You know why, because if they truly were Christians or if they wanted Christianity to have any say in their government, they would have done something about it. They may have inherited Christianity from their parents, but they had the intelligence and the mind of their own to choose their own path. That’s something that you have never experienced and may never will.

This is a clear proof that you just live in a dream world and are unable to accept what you don’t want to believe. I can show you all kinds of evidence and reasoning, but at the end you will stick to your own baseless opinions. Great waste of time…

nope, that is not creative accounting. If people misunderstand the meaning of surplus or deficit, that's their problem.

get your definitions right:
Deficit: The amount the debt increases.
Surplus: The amount the debt decreases.

These terms do NOT refer to the total debt. When we talk about Clinton’s surplus, we talk about the fact that he had fewer deficits than most other presidents.

Nasa’s 50 years old. You’re telling me that Obama is responsible for that too? If anything, Obama has cut the shuttle program short. You’re telling me that you want Russian, Japanese, and the Europeans to do that kind of research and get ahead of us in space exploration?
It’s like saying the Manhattan Project was wasteful spending because it was done during the great depression and the country was at war. Wasn’t that a huge research project???
Nasa employs thousands of people, they have contractors that have thousands of employees. Lockheed, United Space Alliance, ….
You want more job losses? Is that gonna help the economy?? Did we have the funding for the Iraq war or the Chinese helped us finance it?

It’s research old man. Why do you think we have satellites, Cell phones, weather forecast, spy satellite technology, gps, and a better understanding of the world we live in? Servicing the Hubble telescope was one of NASA’s many shuttle missions. They have a fixed budget and with their contributions, they have paid for what they have taken. Hubble telescope has been serving the scientific community for 20 years and there is no dispute in that regard.
You tell me if the billions of dollars that have been wasted in Iraq for the past 6 years have gone to your Social Security. If the Bush’s tax cuts have been paying your bills or if his brilliant economic policies have made this country a better place.

The two points that you raised were actually brought up a few years ago when the Dover area school board tried to introduce "intelligent design" to high schools. The school board was taken to court and the judge who was a republican, heard arguments from both sides and ruled against teaching “intelligent design” because it was proven that the term “ intelligent design“ is nothing but the same old idea of creationism that has no scientific roots and is simply a religious belief. Also, the scientists that testified in that court were able to disprove the same bacteria theories that you mentioned. One last thing to add is that a few of those school board members were caught lying to the judge under OATH and were charged for it.
