Florida is evolving in the wrong direction! (3)

Just when you think things can not get , for lack of a better word, dumber in my state , well simply, it does. Florida is close to passing a law to allow teachers to teach intelligent design. That phrase itself is spin lol, but I go on. The facts are facts and my fellow Floridians should be worried about quitting smoking or losing their last tooth , over this religious crap , that has no place in public schooling. The fact is people do have choices , they can send their kid to parochial school. These "ZEALOTS" that want prayer in school or teaching this 'UNintelligent design' are not concerned about their kid... they are concerned about your kid. Make no mistake about it, this is a Christian crusade , cheaply disguised.

Two points, if evolution is true, there can't be anything even remotely close to "the wrong direction.."

If a system of simply 2 parts cannot show usefulness alone, then their connection is required and design is the ultimate outcome. Consider a nut and a bolt for example. In the construction process if you only had one, you wouldn't have "much".. But together they create a useful part or tool or "machine" if you are very loose with the word.

Also consider something I found on the web for you:

Bacteria have sophisticated molecular machines dedicated to regulating their growth and division with superb accuracy. Most forms of movement in the living world are powered by tiny protein machines known as molecular motors. Among the best known are motors that use sophisticated intramolecular amplification mechanisms . . .

Such tiny motors may actually be seen using special shadowing techniques and high-resolution electron micrographs. The machines, or motors, are comprised of protein and aid in various cellular processes that include cell division, organelle transport and function, and cargo transport along protein tracks in the cytoplasm (the living contents of a cell).

Myosin V [a member of a diverse protein family—the most common being is the myosin that makes up our muscles], a cellular motor protein, carries cargo within cells by moving along actin filaments. It takes 37-nanometer steps by placing one "foot" over the other . . . Genetic mistakes, i.e. mutations, causing motor imperfections may lead to severe defects and possibly lethal diseases.

A machine or rather a functional unit with various moving parts, the very term implies design.

I think for now we consider the Design vs Evolution a draw, since you haven't seen God and I haven't seen an apple turn into a squirrel..

The two points that you raised were actually brought up a few years ago when the Dover area school board tried to introduce "intelligent design" to high schools. The school board was taken to court and the judge who was a republican, heard arguments from both sides and ruled against teaching “intelligent design” because it was proven that the term “ intelligent design“ is nothing but the same old idea of creationism that has no scientific roots and is simply a religious belief. Also, the scientists that testified in that court were able to disprove the same bacteria theories that you mentioned. One last thing to add is that a few of those school board members were caught lying to the judge under OATH and were charged for it.

You can watch a pbs documentary about this case:

And here’s an article about it:
