Ya I'm into them alright, not in a huge way but I always check out carzone/autotrade etc to see what's on offer...some great value going at the moment!
Oh absolutely give the information they request but give it sparingly and only if asked for!
Besides, given the demand being placed on their resources at the present time a lot of claims will slip through the net...
I'm fortunate that I had sufficient contributions paid to qualify for Jobseekers' Benefit so I didn't have to go through the whole means testing process applicable to Jobseekers' Allowance.
I'd always take my chances with Social Welfare tbh, from what I've heard the more agreeable and truthful you are the more difficult they make life for you...
I'm not advocating fraud by any means but 'less is more' when it comes to giving information to social welfare...
People pay tax for a reason and are entitled to take what is rightly theirs when they hit the wall so to speak...
Have to wait four weeks anyhow to get income tax back and even then it's only really done if you expect to be out of work for the remainder of the year..your tax credits will be there for you later in the year when you recommence work but cannot be carried forward into 2010
