The word relationship comes from RELATE and if we can't relate to our loved one's needs then there's no point in hanging around. And communicating is the best way to put across those needs, talking to one another but, most importantly, being able to listen and really be intereted and hearing what the other person is saying. Not going through your mind what you want to say and butting in. If you care, relate to your loved one's feelings and needs. Don't just think about your own needs. And if your loved one doesn't relate in the way you feel they should and they act as though they're just concerned about their needs more than yours or just theirs and not yours, then they're not what you need in your life cos, people can only change if they want to and they feel they need to. Not if you tell them to. It doesn't work. They'll change for a short time but, if it's in the blood, you won't get rid of it. Relate what's on your mind, don't tell them, let them know. There's nothing more irritating than someone telling you to do something rather than putting their point across. It backfires and is the start of many arguments. Communicate, trust and BE LOYAL. If you playing dirty, sooner or later it catches up with you, no matter how good you are at hiding it.
Thank you all for your comments to my poem. I believe no one is perfect and therefore, we all make mistakes. If only people were to learn from their mistakes, they would become stronger and a better person. After all, if we keep looking back to what we did wrong and keep making the same mistakes, we'd never get on with our lives. Life is for living and we should look forward to tomorrow and not dwell on yesterday.

And now I face yet another opportunity To find in my life a soulmate, lover and friend And no matter what the outcome will be It will bring exciting memories that Know no end
