my niece is entering secondary school next year ,and cant understand why she has to learn irish when she already knows want career choice she wants . (a vet)i agree with her it would be good to see irish being an optional subject for the leaving cert .especially if you dont require irish in ur profession .i did irish enjoyed the subject but can now barely string two sentences 2gether .basically coz no one i know speaks it .it is our native tongue but apart from gaeltacht areas who else can speak at a good level of irish?

the last paragraph shows you dont get what im saying .in dublin over the xmas period the amount of people i saw walking over homeless irish people was disgusting .i give money to these people that suffer on my doorstep .what goes on in this country is more relevant than what happens in another continent .blind i see it every day of the week
