More About Me
Many people want the physical characteristics, in which case, I am not going to lie. I have weight to lose, and I'm working on it, but prior injuries make the work slow. But the weight isn't all I am, nor have to offer.
I am more cerebral than physical. I create worlds and write about them. I can look at a plain old oak tree, and paint a picture of it with words so eloquent, people who have never seen the exact tree can feel like they are there in the scene itself.
I am also a crafter - of things other than stories. I crochet, donating several prayer shawls to the churches in the area. But crocheting is not the only hobby.
I am learning to paint, though it hasn't been easy for me. The painting never seems to match the imagination of the mind's eye. I confess to always being a bit envious of several family members who can create such amazing artwork, when I can't even draw a straight line with a ruler.
My other favorite creation, which I'm hoping to get back into this fall, is wood turning. Working with a lathe is almost as thrilling as writing - except it doesn't take quite so long to complete a project.
Outside of these creative hobbies, I enjoy gardening, fishing, and just walking around in nature.
I love animals, especially dogs and cats (though I'm actually allergic to cats), and have an English Mastiff. She is my love, my protectress, and my therapist. She's a goofy dog, as most Mastiffs are, and she keeps me entertained.
I have no children, other than the dog. My neighbor's little girl is the closest I have to a child. She has told me several times she wishes I were her mother. That pulls at my heartstrings, and knowing she's moving later this summer is a bit heartbreaking. She's my eight-year-old bestie.
What am I here to do? I am wanting to start just chatting/communicating. Should anything develop, that's great. If nothing, I've managed to have a new friend.
More About my Match
Ideally, I want someone who can stimulate me cerebrally. I think the exchange of ideas is more sensual than touch sometimes. Someone who has a sense of humor is great, especially if it's not just "potty humor". I prefer not using vulgarities, but it doesn't truly bother me too much. I cuss when I can't find a better word, but I truly detest the F word.
Physical characteristics don't matter to me. Most of the time, I don't pay much attention to the outside of a person. After all, I'm no super model. Why would I expect one to be a match?
