I served 23 years as an Army officer. I miss it.
You don't really know a person until you have been camping together in bad weather. And that is a good thing, all pretenses are washed away. I like to camp and travel to new places. Most people spend a lifetime and never even look in their own backyard. I do stop to read historical markers and I seldom in a straight line.
Used book stores are my friend! I could spend a blissful day wondering such an archive of knowledge.
My volunteer work is important to me. I coach a youth shooting sports club. Some fine folks mentored me when I was youth. Just passing it on.
