More About Me
for fun:
Summer: all the free music, festivals and art shows; hiking 14ers;
driving with the top down; pool parties; cutting the grass, gardening;
the Rockies. Winter: snowshoeing, skiing, movies. Denver's a great
city and there's so much to do all the time.
About me and what I'm looking for
I'm a nice guy - soft-spoken, tolerant, non-judgmental, generous, open
to new ideas, easy-going and I get along with just about anybody.
Friends and people at work call me laid-back. I'm tall and fit and
sixty, single and available, not much of a talker but a great
listener, more a giver than a taker.
My friends are great, but with some minor exceptions, they're mostly
cultural illiterates. They think that if it's not manly, then it's not
worthwhile, especially with other guys. They snicker when I mention
the ballet or opera. If I suggest First Friday Art Walk, they run the
other way. I have to hand it to them, though - they actually had a
good time when I took them to Lannie's for their Thursday Night
Burlesque. Their drag-queen show? Fuggetaboutit. But they will
accompany me every once in a while to one of the local joints that
play live music. And they're great ski, dive, baseball and drinking
buddies. I like my friends, but I really don't want to hang out with
them in a hot tub after a long hike or hard day skiing.
What I'm saying is that I'd rather have someone fun and pretty to go
with when I go out. I almost always buy two tickets to events when I
get them in advance and then I have to scramble to use the second one.
Sometimes that second ticket goes to a stranger hanging outside the
venue, sometimes it goes unused and I get a little extra space to
stretch out. I'm not repulsive. I'm not a bore, or a boor. But meeting
people isn't easy for me. Hopefully that will change soon.
More About my Match
I'm not sure who my ideal match is, but I can tell you what she isn't. She isn't controlling nor is she an excessive drinker. She doesn't let other people walk all over her; she has control over her life. She's not overly emotional and she definitely isn't overly dramatic.
Occupation
For the past couple of years, I've been working about 3/4 time, from home most of the time, and enjoy my time off.
