More About Me

1. I am fortunate to have a wonderful spouse, two talented children, and three beautiful granddaughters.
2. I never could answer the question “what do you want to be when you grow up?” so I decided to RETIRE and not worry about it any more.
3. I was once a member of the Young Americans for Freedom, treasurer of the Young Republicans in college and voted for Richard Nixon in 1968. These grievous misdoings forced me into a long period of atonement which led me to seminary and a clergy career. I had an audience with George McGovern in 2007 and he forgave me and I feel better now.
4. In 2015 both David Letterman and Jon Stewart left the airwaves. I no longer watch tv after 10 p.m. 5. I’ve had only one serious girlfriend in my life and I married her on July 11, 1970. I will admit, however, that I’ve had several exciting fantasies. 6. I’ve owned twenty-four automobiles and also driven several “company” cars. Most of them have been Fords, but the endurance award goes to our 2005 Toyota Sienna.
7. The first house I lived in was seriously damaged by a fire.
8. The first time I drank any kind of intoxicating spirits was my sophomore year in college.
9. (my wife made me omit this one - she was afraid I’d get arrested - call me if you want to learn more)
10, I joined this site to play games.

More About my Match

This is a mostly true story, but some names have been altered to protect the innocent. Fraternity brothers Chuck and Pebbles were unlucky in love. Throughout the first three years of college, they each sought to win the favors of various coeds. Always their standards were high. Chuck and Pebbles, of course, wanted to be seen with the prettiest girls on campus. But there were no secrets in the fraternity house: every date was subject to strict analysis and scrutiny. Chuck and Pebbles were under great pressure to succeed. Frequently, they received the answer they cherished and squired a lovely lass out on a first date. Sometimes they followed up with a second, maybe a third night on the town. But so very often the magic simply was not there for them. Infrequently, the boys decided on their own not to pursue a relationship. However, usually it was the girl who proclaimed “no more.” Their quest was to meet and perhaps conquer as many young maidens as possible. They had invested in necessary equipment including contact lenses for Chuck and a 1965 red Mustang for Pebbles. It was a beautiful fall in Nebraska in 1968, and the times were changing for these two young men. To make the challenge more interesting they made a pact. During October they would each strive to date at least 31 different girls - an average of one per day. There was no prize other than bragging rights, and an end to the dreaded brown helmet syndrome. And so it began. The phones were busy. Chuck was off to a fine start and had commitments for the first four nights of October. A blonde sophomore named Chris had caught Chuck’s attention the previous year, but she was always with other guys and ostensibly unavailable. Now it appeared she was on the accessible list. So he asked and she became date number three. Their first date began at a fraternity party about 20 miles out into the country.
