More About Me

Describing oneself is often difficult, especially on a dating site. There is the tendency to sugar-coat to sell oneself. I believe in knowing someone personally, not by what the person says.

This section is required to complete my profile and I will try my best to describe me.

Call me the modern old-fashion gentleman; in the sense that I still believe in treating a woman with respect, like standing up when she is about to sit, opening the car door/doors for her, etc. Men think they understand women, but they don't. So I try to understand her as much as possible. One humorous expression that I like is "Behind every woman is a man standing behind her wondering what he has said wrong."

I like good music, especially Jazz, Rhythm & Blues, Old 60s/70s, classical, etc. To me, music is life. I can't do without music. I like to dance. Holding her, my hands around her waist is heaven. Like Frank Sinatra will say, 'It's a ring-a-ding-ding and I'm in heaven.'

I like classic movies, the black & white era; Bette Davis, Audrey Hepburn, Thelma Ritter, Jack Lemmon (I just watched The April Fools yesterday), Clark Gable, Cary Grant, etc. Please don't get me wrong, I still love the new movies, but not the Sci fi movies.

I have passion for water. I find myself 'lost' by the lake, sea, ocean. I enjoy nature, walking in the woods. Has anyone observe the beauty of the crescent shape new moon? I just love it.

I am quiet, not dumb.

Well! I think I have ran my mouth too much. Like as I said, knowing one in person is better than reading what the person says. How do you know I am not sugar-coating myself? So the best way is to get to know me personally: no strings attached. :)

I prefer not to do long distance relationship. I want to be able to see her. I will prefer someone in Belgium. But should Netherlands, France or Germany, presents something, it maybe worth the while. (Italy....well???).

More about my Match

I cannot describe my match, because I believe that a lasting relationship is derived from knowing (loving/understanding) the imperfection in the person. I don't ascribe to The Perfect Match. There is no such thing as a perfect match to me. We all have faults that will want to make the other person puke. It is by knowing them can we coexist.

However, I will appreciate a lady who will take time in letting me know her. I might stumble in the process, and it will be nice if she doesn't hold a dagger to my head, trying to correct me or resorting to name calling or the sort, or have plates and glasses flying around.

I will appreciate a lady who will welcome, and try to learn/understand my taste, no matter how awful and weird they may be.

Communication! Communication!! Communication!!! The key to any relationship. Many people DO NOT understand communication. They tend to equate it with listening. You often hear from one's partner, "Are you even listening to me?" Of course he/she is listening. But he/she doesn't understand a jack sh*t you are saying! Communication is UNDERSTANDING what is being said. And it also has PRESENTING. And it involves both. Presenting your words so that the other person will comprehend them. And the receiving person making sure the words are comprehended. There is nothing wrong with asking a question so as to understand. Some people do not want to ask questions or to be ask questions. That make communication fail....The breakdown.

And RESPECT. There can be nothing without RESPECT. Respect breeds love, faithfulness, honesty, loyalty, etc, you name them.

The bottom line is, someone who will give me a chance to know her. This start with friendship (talking, writing, etc) which will culminate in looking forward to meeting.
