It is interesting how science has come into this. I am indeed glad by it, because through sharing our thoughts we can dab into other areas too.
There seems to be an assumption that science explain things. I have problem with the explaining part. To me, science does not explain things. Rather, science puts forth arguments or scientific data to support certain things. That data is not always 100%, it is overwhelming to make an argument for the premise.
@genius wrote, "u believe so why r u asking u did not say jehova or Muhammad u said god well." I write and ask to be informed. Any person who believes that his/her belief is absolutely correct is a moron and not an intelligent person. I write to be informed. That is the essence of my asking; to have an understanding of the many concepts from people, and so be informed by their comments. I share with you an advice from one of my university professors: The stupidest and most dumb question is the question one has and does not ask.
Whatever name one calls him, it still comes to the same: God.
Sorry, I am NOT an American and so do not care what name is on the money.
@badlydrawn. No, I do not see the difference. You said that "believing in something is different from having a set of beliefs." To me, believing in something is the same as having a set of beliefs. Take the bike example that you put forward. You believe that you can ride a bike. That, the belief, is held by you,
@BadlyDrawn, By not believing in something, is that not having a set of Beliefs? I seem not to see any difference between believing in something and having a set of beliefs. But we all have different interpretations of things.
"The old testament was all about anger and retribution.
The new was about love and forgiveness." What you are saying @MollyBaby is that there are two Gods: an angry and revengeful God in the old testament and a new forgiving God in the new testament.
I definitely agree with this, Elegsabiff "We should respect the rights of others to their beliefs until and unless they try to force their beliefs on us" Oh, the list omitted, Oritse, Olorun, shineke, etc. I will be calling Wikipedia
Elegsabiff wrote,"I wonder if you really want comments or just want to be agreed with?" Any one who writes to be agreed with is a moron and not an intelligent person. An intelligent person writes to be informed; gain from others responses. My writing about the subject is to hear and be 'informed' of the differing views, and maybe discuss further. For instance you wrote, "I personally like to think there is a divinity that shapes our lives..." Is this divinity call God? And in what ways does this divinity shape our lives? 'Our' here, I presume is every human. Does that include the evil doers? It will be interesting to hear further explanations on this.
@rizlared. You said it all. Trump caused the shut down, not congress. It is even stupid for people to blame democrats. Republicans are in majority, until January 3, NOT Democrats. Trump categorically said he will shut down the government if he doesn't get money to build his wall. The same wall he promised everyone that Mexico will pay for.
Congress is on vacation. Congress is not in session, Pelosi takes a vacation, you have a problem with it. But you don't seem to have problem with Trump spending his time in his hotel, playing golf at his golf course, all money paid for by tax payers and all going into his pocket. Imagine the cost of Airforce One, the cost of the security, the cost of his travelling staff, etc. All going to Trump's Hotel. No 'problemo Amigo'. But there is problem with Pelosi's vacation. Uh!. Say Dude! Why don't you tell us who pays for Pelosi's personal vacation. Did she pay for it or the tax payer pays for it?
Tell me why tax payers should pay for Trump's border wall whe he PROMISED and told tax payers that Mexico will pay for the wall? See below video. I am sure you read other of his promises about the wall.
Maybe it is because you appear not to know what this site is meant for. It is a dating site. One posts a profile and people view it. If someone is interested in it, the person contacts the profile and communications begin.
People may view your profile and may not contact you. But don't let that make you feel alone or sad. That is the biggest approach. Just hang on and see if someone will contact you. Or you may want to join a youth or community program where youths of your age interact. I think the later advice is better.
Who is God? Does God exists?
