unquestionably the funniest ( though not pitched ) comedy ever...
more quotable than any film before or since...
there is even a W & I drinking game to be played...(check the dvd extras)...
richard e grants finest moment...and possibly the rest of the cast's also...
i cant resist...
uncle monty's little speach to marwood (i)...
"i cant bare to be around raw meat, as a child i used to weep in butchers shops"...
id say this is probibly by favorit film...
not a wasted line of dialogue...
just perfect...

Yeah Richard E grant is suberb..and he has never touched a drop
in his life..most convincing drunk ever...never heard of marwood since so his finest moment as well..

Have u seen the Withnail swearathon vid on the tub..wont post due to may offend..

The penryth tea room scene( you posted before ) is prob fav scene..
Also brilliant to obviously a farmer driving a tractor 'leg wound in a polythene bag'

Withnail:Are you the farmer?
Marwood:Shut up. I'll deal with this.
Withnail:We've gone on holiday by mistake. We're in this cottage here.....Are you the farmer?
Marwood:Stop saying that Withnail.Of course he's the f*cking farmer

frankly, theres hardly a line i dont remember as ive seen the film around 20 times , watched it only last month....
id be letting the side down if i didnt pass this info on to you so here is the order number for the 20 anniversary "tin" set...

3 discs...main feat c/w commentries, paul mc gann/ralph brown..and the main man, bruce robinson...
2nd disc, full of goodies to many to mention...
3rd disc...soundtrack, well kind of, but a great addition to the completeness of the set...

just a quickie re marwood (paul mc gann), look out for a film called "paper mask", co-starring amanda donahoe, (yes, she keeps getting her kit off)...brilliant and un-nerving "what if" medical drama...youll never go to casualty again!!!
