saying good bye to a furry family member

UPDATE.... i rededicate this video in memory to kokoro, who passed away christmas eve 2022 and hoshi, who passed away july 9th, 2022. my beloved kitties have been reunited. i miss them dearly...this was a really tough video to watch. i've seen my parents and a young friend die. despite their pain, they fought with everything they had to live as long as possible. people say putting a pet down is the humane thing to do. but to me, they're not pets, they're my boys....cherished family members. so, i feel they deserve to fight to stay in this life as long as possible just as i would no matter the cost. their unconditional love has taught me a lot about life. they have been of great comfort and the source of many happy memories. a growing trend is to allow the pet to reach the end of life through pain management and die peacefully at home rather than in a sterile, stressful environment like a animal hospital. my one hope for the inevitable is that i'm with them so, they don't pass alone despite how hard that would be for me to bear.
