Your attempt at trying 'the secret' and planning your path to your envisaged goal was destroyed by your wife leaving; it has shoved you off the path ... is there a chance you can get back on the path - focus yourself on a new goal, and give it another shot?
The old saying 'Seeing is believing' holds true for me I think; I try to look at things in a fresh perspective despite what I already know or have already learned from past experiences; lessons in life can teach you caution but should not cloud your judgement to the degree where you are afraid to trust or love or live.
