RE: If HIllary becomes president

On Wednesday morning, McAuliffe spoke to MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell where he sort of, kind of tried to clean things up by saying she'd only support it with changes. But it didn't really help things.

“Let me be very clear: She will only go forward if the changes she wants are implemented, that everyone is in agreement, the labor folks are in agreement. She’s not going forward as it is today. So unless the changes are made she’s not for it. President Obama does want this, as you know," he said.

By Wednesday afternoon, McAuliffe had tried again:

“I've never talked to her about TPP. I serve as a chairman of the Governors. We would like trade deals, but we've got to have trade deals that actually increase wages, create jobs, and protect national security. So we support trade overall, but she's never changed her position in a sense. She's never talked to me about it. When the woman asked me last night, I thought she was asking me, could Hillary Clinton ever support a trade deal. Well, of course she could, if it meets her criteria. It doesn't meet her criteria. And let me tell you, I just left the AFL CIO, I sat next to Rich Trumka and Leo Gerard of the steelworkers — they're for trade deals, but they've got to be trade deals that protect workers' wages, increase economic activity, and create more workers. That's all we're for. That's what Hillary is for. This deal doesn't work for her. We may have a difference of opinion on that, but that's her opinion and she is sticking with that opinion unless something can change on the TPP, but this is a bill that is not amendable, so she probably — she's never going to be for it.”

Thanks, governor. That seems certain to satisfy everyone and put the matter to rest.

Unless it's passed by an out of control lame duck congress.. wink and  Obama will sign it like he did with the Dark Act, despite opposition from over 200000 signing on at the 'We The People' petitions website.. wink wink

“Here’s what I’ll do as President. I’ll immediately implement Country of Origin Labeling because Americans should know where their food comes from. And we’ll let folks know whether their food has been genetically modified because Americans should know what they’re buying,” promised Obama.

What happened with these petitions with over 100000 signers.. hmmm

And McAuliffe’s comments played directly into the image of Clinton that infuriates Sanders' delegates -- especially after her selection of Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine as her running mate, who vocally supports the Obama-backed trade deal. "I have no confidence she's against TPP," said Christine Pellegrino, a Sanders delegate from New York. "I haven't made up my mind about what options exist at the convention.”

I'd bet dollars to donuts she's just flopping like a crappy on this one.. hmmm

McAuliffe: Clinton would flip-flop on TPP

Philadelphia (CNN)Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe caused Hillary Clinton a political headache Tuesday night when he said he expects her to reverse her position on a major free trade deal. Clinton has said on the campaign trail that she opposes the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a 12-nation trade deal negotiated by President Barack Obama's administration, citing its lack of provisions to crack down on currency manipulation.

But McAuliffe said in an interview with Politico that he believes she'd flip-flop and support the deal.
"I worry that if we don't do TPP, at some point China's going to break the rules -- but Hillary understands this," he said. "Once the election's over, and we sit down on trade, people understand a couple things we want to fix on it, but going forward, we got to build a global economy."

Pressed on whether Clinton would reverse her position, McAuliffe told Politico: "Yes. Listen, she was in support of it. There were specific things in it she wanted fixed."

Already, Republican nominee Donald Trump is seizing on McAuliffe's remarks as evidence Clinton is willing to flip-flop. "Just like I have warned from the beginning, Crooked Hillary Clinton will betray you on the TPP," Trump tweeted.

Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta quickly sought to undo the potential damage of McAuliffe's remark, tweeting: "Love Gov. McAuliffe, but he got this one flat wrong. Hillary opposes TPP BEFORE and AFTER the election. Period. Full stop."

McAuliffe spokesman Brian Coy later walked back the remarks, saying the Virginia governor has "no expectation" Clinton would shift on the issue.

"While Governor McAuliffe is a supporter of the TPP, he has no expectation Secretary Clinton would change her position on the legislation and she has never told him anything to that effect," Coy said in a statement.

The Trans-Pacific Partnership has been a political hot button for Clinton through her entire campaign. She'd called it a "gold standard" trade deal during her tenure as secretary of state. But, faced with a primary foe in Bernie Sanders and a general election opponent in Trump who both oppose the deal, she announced her opposition to it once the deal was finalized late last year.

Read the article, says the US government makes grants to develop the research that is patented. Then the patents are sold by the institutions doing the research to the drug manufacturers, where the prices go up and up, in the US anyway. There was legislation passed to allow the government to extend manufacturing for generics to keep the prices down, but the agencies won't exercise that right for us, and we get screwed coming and going, more often than not.. very interesting article.. wink

An Auburn man joined the Army. As part of his basic training, he went out on the rifle range. He fired 99 shots at the target, and missed the target with every shot! His Drill Instructor tried to find out why.

"What's the matter with you?" asked the DI. "Why can't you hit the target? What were you in civilian life?"

"I was a telephone man," replied the new recruit, "and I don't know why I can't hit the target. Let me see..."

The telephone man checked his rifle, checked his rifle again, and checked his rifle a third time. He then put his finger in front of the muzzle, pulled the trigger, and blew the end of his finger off!

"Well," the phone man said, writhing in pain, "the bullets are leaving here fine. The trouble must be on the other end!"

1. The Host Server

The most common cause of slow speed on the Internet is the host server. This server may be configured incorrectly or underpowered for the number of people using it at the same time. A slow server can affect anything you do on the Internet.

DSL over phone lines should be good a few miles away. It's a long story... too technical for this media.. and I can't write enough to educate an electrician.. handshake

RE: Say Anything

Yeah that's for cable, the telco systems are different. An endpop is a hut where they have the dslam equipment to hook up to the endloop subscribers. The connection between here and the endpop always tests good, The dslam is like a higher capacity modulator that connects via fiber to the telco central office server.. laugh

Actually, I think that they use asphalt to dumb down the population during troubling times. And they started overlaying the highways everywhere around Minnesota right after the 2008 crash to stimulate the economy, or so they say. This year they have started chip-sealing all the overlayed highways, and it's been so bad around here some days I can barely think fast enough to keep up with writing in forums, only slightly better days like today with cooler weather.. wink

RE: Say Anything

The microsoft upgrade said the reason my computer was not compatible was because the graphics system in the 4 year old HP desktop was not Win 10 compatible... 1 year newer and it may have worked.. beyond that I have plenty of ram and processor capacity, it's the DSL connection between the endpop 2 miles down the road and the central office 10 miles away. It's usually better during the week when there aren't so many kids laying on the computer while they should be outside when they're at the cabins around here. I'll try using the high speed from my cell phone as a hot spot cabled directly to my desktop in the next couple weeks here.

RE: Say Anything

You did exactly what they wanted you to do, buy a new computer when the one you had would work just fine. Windows 7 will be supported until 2020 and I know I will have to replace it before then, but why should I do it now?

RE: Say Anything

I told you before have been involved. And I did call the congressman's office and read his aid what I wrote on the legislation to restore voting rights as I got the standard answer that did not begin with Dear Jack! You might be able to tell I'm beyond disappointed with the process in a rigged system when politicians say one thing and do the exact opposite of what they know damn well is wrong to the nth degree!. Do you think I'll get a reply?.. wink

Restore the Voting Rights Act, and get rid of all barriers that prevent citizens from exercising their right to VOTE!

First things first, my personal experience. I have always attended caucus, except for the 2012 cycle when I felt left out because I couldn't stand the stuffy cologne, perfumed, chemical laden environment in the caucus place and wasn't allowed to just cast my straw ballot and go. For this 2016 caucus, when I saw lines 3 wide snaking through the hallways hundreds of feet to the commons area polling place, I thought 'OH HELL NO!' And I walked right past everyone there right up to the front, as there was no way that I would be denied the right to cast my ballot again, this year especially! I must say I have never voted republican, but longer story short, I must also say that I have not always voted for the preferred democrat either when it seems to be a choice between two evils. Fortunately I became bold enough for a few minutes this year and got to do what I had to do to VOTE. Also fortunate that I live in Minnesota where I didn't have to worry about some of the other BS and more nefarious situations others ran into all around the country.

All this and that said, beyond republican insistence on ridiculous measures like photo Id showing proof of residency, especially when so many people have been forced out of permanent residence, otherwise disadvantaged and have no residence, among other 'Show us your papers before proceeding to the next confusing step' measures like Non-Partisan Voters Are Receiving No-Party-Preference Ballots that Don’t Let Them Vote in the Presidential Primary. Voters Are Reporting Their Registrations Changed or Receiving the Wrong Ballots. Voter Registration Issues Have Been Reported All Over the Country, Including Arizona, New York, and More that the DNC used against Bernie Sanders supporters in particular. I read an article once that pretty much said our votes mean @@@@ as it's the electoral college that elects the president, and the people that decide who will be the electoral college have already decided who their preferred candidate will be. So you might be able to tell I'm well aware though beyond disappointed with the process and when the time comes to vote I certainly will, though I will reserve and preserve my right to cast my vote in protest rather than in support of the preferred candidate in a rigged system. Now, I've spent a considerable amount of time and effort to personalize this message. Extra credit as you reconsider importances and begin your reply 'Dear Jack' as my friends call me. It's not just a secret, sometimes words you regret most are words never said!

The right to vote is the cornerstone of our democracy. But when the Supreme Court gutted key portions of the Voting Rights Act in 2013, it opened the door to state laws that kept many Americans from exercising their right to be heard at the polls.
We're already seeing the disastrous impact of these anti-voter laws in states across the nation, including long lines, voter confusion, and eligible voters turned away on Election Day.

Please add your name as a cosponsor of the Voting Rights Advancement Act (S. 1659/H.R. 2867), and if you've already signed on, thank you for your leadership.

RE: If HIllary becomes president

Don Reichmuth survived prostate cancer once before, back in 2007, so his physician was concerned when tests recently revealed the cancer had returned. Reichmuth's physician prescribed a drug called enzalutamide, marketed by the Japanese company Astellas Pharma, Inc. under the brand name Xtandi. But when the physician sent the prescription to the pharmacy, the managers of Reichmuth's insurance plan sent back an immediate refusal to approve it.

Reichmuth, a retired teacher who lives in Washington State, was puzzled by the logic. Then he learned the price of the Xtandi prescription: over $9,700 each month.

Reichmuth is just one of millions of Americans who are experiencing prescription drug sticker shock. There are the extreme high-profile examples, like the former hedge fund manager Martin Shkreli hiking the price of a critical toxoplasmosis drug by 5,000 percent overnight, or a new hepatitis C medicine costing over $1,000 a pill. But the issue extends beyond the headlines. Pharmaceutical corporations consistently set most of their prices hundreds of times higher than their manufacturing costs, then relentlessly raise those prices at rates far exceeding inflation. The result is breathtaking corporate profits as high as 42 percent annually. The industry's average return on assets more than doubles that of the rest of the Fortune 500.

No birthday present from me!

Realizing that your term is almost over without getting a handle on outright theft, waste and mismanagement of pentagon and cia programs! How much longer are we going to ignore crumbling US infrastructure and continue wasting billions of dollars, bankrupting our economy and our children's and grandchildren's future to fight endless undefined war? How many have already lost a good portion of promised future pension payments as we are turned over to the PBGC, acerbated by malfeasance by government and corporate leaders? Where is the money going if not into the pockets of ordinary people that believed in hope and change!? And where is the money coming from that will pay for the reduced benefits from the PBGC? Hope and Change were just your version of campaign lies and distortions, there is no transparency and I no longer believe you! And we're supposed to believe Clinton leadership(?) will save us? What a joke!
