Oh my, let me tell you what....my last serious relationship was 2 years ago, thought I'd give myself a much needed break. A friend of mine decided to get me out of the house Friday night because I have become a self induced work-a-holic. The single scene today is SCARY!
You have to dress a certain way (preferably with cleavage and a short skirt it seemed), act a certain way (the "I broke a nail syndrome"). I danced with a few guys and sat at the bar and chatted with a few others, but you know as nice as a few of them were, none of them really made me want to learn more about them. They just seemed to have such low self-esteem and have such a negative attitude (caused by a prior relationship or two I am sure) that I wanted to call it a night and snuggle up with my poochie Sophie and watch cable.
I am known by friends to be an open, honest, caring, drama-free, as real as it gets country girl. I know that I don't want to live my life alone anymore, and I don't want to settle for just anyone. I want to find "my partner"......"my best friend!"
Being single in today's world is definitely scary, but what is even scarier is remaining single!
