So Many Lives

I was reading the blog postings today and found so many sad and unhappy people. So many complained that they could not find a connection on this site. Some told stories about relationships gone bad. So, I decided to add my own story to the mix.

Last Sept 13 I got up early, the hummingbirds were flying around me and my deck. My husband of 33 years joined me. We sat and drank our coffee and he had a funny type of event. His eyes rolled back into his head and his arms went limp. This lasted for a couple of seconds. I asked him what happened, and he said he felt a little dizzy and said he had gotten up too early. This was his day off from work and I insisted that he put aside anything he felt he had to do and relax, do whatever made him happpy, Around 3:00 pm he came to me and asked "Hey old woman, what is for dinner?" I told him, anything you want. So, around 7:00 pm he came upstairs from his man cave for dinner. He had amazing little boy eyes, and he asked "Can I eat in front of the TV, there's a baseball game." Of course, so I made him a tray and he kissed me on the cheek saying "You are the best." These were the last words he spoke to me. He died about an hour later. I found him, he was in his favorite chair. He had eaten and he was smiling.

Yes, I miss him. But, I am going on. I know that life is worth living and there are many things to smile about. I do not think I will find my soul mate on this or any other web sit. It is what it is. Scams, dead beats, self asborbed people...well they exist everywhere not just here.

Stop being the "Poor Poor Me" and start looking around yourself. If you go to the store, your soul mate may be the person picking out produce. You will never know if you are so consumed about the hard knocks that life has given you to see the treasures walking in and through your life.

Smile. It costs nothing. But, it gives you rewards. Brighten someone else's day with a thank you, a smile, a helping hand and by the end of the day, well you will feel lighter and brighter.

Critters under the sink---help

Okay, you may have read my input regarding fixing my kitchen sink. Well life gets funnier. In the past I was told that I was too kind hearted. I disagreed, I thought that no one could be too compassionate and loving. I am reexaming this idea. I noticed a stray cat who had just had kittens. I thought, poor kitty, I will just feed it because it is so very skinny. So, I began to feed this cat. Well, the other night she moved her brood into my bathroom under the sink. Not so bad, so I thought. Well I have a pool and it is hot here in Az, over 110 each day. I love kids and often open my home to the neighborhood kids. So, we bake cookies, take a swim, and then they go home. Now you get the scene. I had a little guest that needed to use the rest room. He goes in, and immediately comes running out with a cat chasing him. The cat is hissing, the kid is running as fast as his feet will carry him. I could not stand by, this looked like too much fun. So, now I chase the cat that is chasing the kid. Lasted for several minutes and the kid got tired and the cat retreated to the bathroom. Now I have a cat that is no larger than a kitten and weighs about 3 pounds guarding my bathroom. Life is never dull around me! Oh the kid, he is okay no trama. He went home laughing.

Loveing Life

Life is funny, I really mean funny in everyway. As I have aged I have come to realize that I took life too seriously. For example, when I was young I worried that I did not have the clothes that other young women wore, now I sit in PJs and sometimes the top does not match the bottom. I worried at one time that I was not smart. I am still not as well educated as some, but smart has nothing to do with how many books you have written or read.

At one time I would call a repairman to fix anything that went wrong. Now I find that I attempt to do more for myself. Sometimes it turns out badly. For example. Have you ever tried to squeeze into the space under your kitchen sink? I did the other day, it was not pretty. After much pushing and holding my breath, I fit. But, I found that it was not smart to hold one's breath for any great amount of time. Also, before you take the hoses off of the water facuet, it is smart to turn the water off. So, as you can see, life is funny if not always pretty.
