Mutual admiration society....

....so Lindz29 and myself decided that forming a mutual admiration society is a fab idea. I think he's great he says lovely things to me and voila' two people feel good! Yay. Now essentially this could be viewed as wanting ones ego pumped, however I have to say from where I stand that is definitely not the case.

I live in this really nice place, lets call it paradise. I have a fabulous family a few amazing friends and I'm generally a pretty happy chappy. Things have happened in my life that have knocked me for a six, but here I am living in the present as we speak and all is well. Though this isn't the case for everyone and positivity doesn't always come naturally. Also I find for some reason the human race seems to have a lot of difficulty in saying nice things for no reason....I don't understand what is so difficult in saying something randomly nice to someone just to make them feel good (friend, foe or stranger).

So to get into the spirit of things and throw around a bit of feel good factor....here we are in the mutual admiration society. Feel free to admire soemone anytime and there is unfortunately a rule.....if you haven't got anything nice to say, please don't say it at all.

Looking forward to viewing comments.

Geez I'm a busy girl!

Its finally time to sit back and smell the roses, so here I am to tell all of what has made me such a busy girl over the last couple of days.

Inbetween the obligatory short bouts of daydreaming (haven't had enough time to have long for such frivolitywink ) I've filled my life so fully with work that I haven't even kept up with my chilling out blog time. It all started a couple of days ago after the usual getting in the girls (cows) then milking them they were due a jab from the vet, well at least half of them were so throughout milking we cut out the ones for jabbing and put them behind the backing gate. Cleared up after milking, set the fences for the springers and went back to shed to await said vets arrival...yay he was only 5mins late! Can you believe after getting up at 5am I didn't get home for brekkie till 10am....I was starving, other workers would've been more so though as they had to stay even longer for the oxidation pond inspection. Anyway, all I could think about was breakfast, have discoverd a mean way to have my porridge,, is relatively good for me but tastes as good as sticky date pudding. 1c porridge, 2C milk 1/2 cup raisins or sultanas. Microwave for 2 1/2mins in microwave, stir then 1 min in microwave. Stir in 1Tspoon brown sugar and eat.................mmmmmmmm DEVINE and keeps me full till luch time....except this day kept me full till just before next milking. After brekkie I wet out fed calves, fixed a couple od dogy gates and then went out spraying the dreaded Ragwort. It was supposed to be raining but turned out to be quite aa nice day and very warm! Had some sfternoon Tea, help get cow and calf in then milked cows.....so I was absolutely shattered when I got home had just enough energy to cook up whitebait fritter (luckyme!!!!) then collapsed on the couch. So y'know how it is.....next thing I wakeup, TV blaring lights ablaze and it flamin 10:30.....was supposed to do some packing for the market the nextday but couldn't keepmy eyes open so went to bed setting alarm for 5 again.
Ended up pushing snooze button in the morning very rare but who doesn't do such a thing on occassion, could've easily stayeed in bed for a couple more hours, however that wasn't going to happen...jumped up at second alarm, did packaging put everything in car and off I went, only 1/2 and hour late so life still goes on, had a pretty good day selling quiute a bit, still don't feel very rich though! Then went to pickup some more stock, visited my sister with a very late lunch, talked and laughed myself silly, forced myself to leave( had so much more to say! As ya do!) delivered an order on the way home, picked up some beers from supermarket, dropped of some pudding to my other sis and now here I am at home......another long day over.

So tomorrow is my day of rest, all I have to do is mow lawns, wash dishes, do washing and possibly wash car. You see whoever said a womans work is never done!!!!!????!!!! Oh yeah morepacking to be done for next market....better fit that in somewhere. Now please do not think any of this is complaining, I love it, where would i be without my busy?yay

I've finally found the love of a lifetime....

.... a love to last the whole night through, etc, etc, etc. LOL who sang that was it Scorpian. Anyway I digress......its an almond croissant. And as the French beat the English in the 1/4 finals of the rugby world cup I feel its only apt that I indulge!!!

So todays news is just that, I've fallin head over heels for Almond croissant and I also got up at 4am to go to a market up Auckland way and sell my wares. I managed to drive for 1.15 hours without crashing into anything even though my eyes hadn't full adjusted to the rest of me being awake just yet. Set up my stall then did the usual of collecting a large coffee from my friendly coffee man, had a wee yarn on the way through the market (as ya do) then purchased an almond croissont from an estatic french chick....went and sat down to indulge in my nummy purchases. By this time the sun had come up and people were milling around the place.....craziness I say! Who gets up at that time of day to go shopping....glad they do though as its how I make part of my living.

Anyway if you managed to read this far perhaps you would be kind enough to help me with todays unanswered question. Now as much I love to have a yarn and have some really cool people to chat to on here, I also don't have zillions of hours to sit and chat to everyone who's kind enough to send me a message..... so in a nutshell.....I select those whom I feel I'd like to get to know or will enjoy talking to to stay in touch with. I'd like to reply to every single person though even if I don't intend to keep the communication going, so whats the best thing to say to someone if I'd don't wish to keep communicating with them? What would you like to hear from someone????

Really looking frward to hearing your views....women too if any decide to read this.

peace cheers

Advice from the guys please.....

I have a very gorgeous older PLAYER on my tale.... I'm not silly and I know he doesn't care. However he seems to be able to get under my skin whenever he talks to me, obviously being an experienced player he probably notices this quite easily. Now I do have to see this guy on occassion so what I'd like to know is what is the best way to treat him???? I'm usually just my normal self which I thought he'd get bored with, not the case this guy is still trying to play with me after over a year of similar behavior. I'm not gonna lie I did originally have a crush though I believe this was simply to help me get through a breakup....its always good to have someone to take your mind off such things. Now, no crush, no nothing just simple physical attraction.
I suppose I just don't understand why a guy would still be trying to play after such a long time of not getting what he wants when there's so many women out there he can just click his fingers for?? Any assistance greatly appreciated as being a woman I obviously don't know how a blokes mind works. cheers guys sorry for the girlie topic.blushing

I'm smiling on the inside.

Okay so today I feel completely knackered so who knows how my blog will turn out. However tired as I am like I said I'm smiling on the inside as its too much effort to curl my lips at this time.

Isn't it funny how you can work, work, work and then you get a day to chillout and as the day goes by you feel more tired the less you do.I would've thought that if a body relaxes and does only a small amount of movement then it'd feel less tired..... with me it seems to be the opposite. I was knackered lying on the couch watching tele, though felt relaxed and not so wornout when I later got ready and went and got the cows in.... by the way I think cows get PMS too. 135 is a real bully sometimes she head butts the other cows when they get in her way, she's so bad sometimes that she's been seen lifting another cow off her back feet and butting her till she's down. She tried that maneouvre today on the way to the shed. The reason I reckon its PMS is because she only seems to be a big bully once a month every other time she's not so bad! Being a woman I can relate to her frustration, teehee.peace

Power surge.

so I'm no electrician, I do however understand a little about how power works. So today on the farm, apart from the usual chores I was set the task of finding shorts in particular electric fences in some areas of the farm. I've finally worked out with a little help from Pa what all the different numbers on the fence tester mean. Believe me its very helpful to have this information! I travel rather long distances, some parts by motorbike others by foot and to my dismay it took a good couple of hours to find the main problem. The sad thing about this tale is.... whilst I was spraying ragwart earlier today I'd walked right passed the problem without even noticing!!!! Even tested the fence not far away!!!!!doh

Anyway all fixed now ready for all the cattle to workout how they can be smart and a little nimble and get out through all these electrics...however I am still trying to work one thing out. How does a single wire running around the outside of a farm go from 4 amp to 2amp without a single short to be found?????confused

No farming today, daydreaming instead....

......I've found I'm a very good daydreamer. There have been times when my chores in life haven't been the most appealling things for me and a good old fantasy rolling through my brain has gotten me through these rather unmotivating tasks. Today was one of those days where dreaming that I'd won the lottery, bought my 1974 Holden Torana SL and started restoring it with no help from anyone bar a little advice from a good mechanic here and there, was much needed. Afewyears ago I was a living in town, something I did simply because I was the best place to be at the time for work..... 9 years I lived in the rat race after coming home from my big OE, so driving around in crappy traffic amondst some of the world equally as crappy driver was second nature, however if you've read my other blogs you'll realise thats not where I'm at any more. I'm back where I belong in the country with fresh air and pleasantness surrounding me, so today when I was in the city I viryually had no choice but to go off into my own little world at times just to keep me a close to sane as I've always been. ;-)
In amongst all this brain activity I had a seriously brilliant idea, I decided to checkout party central, I mean how boring would I be if I didn't check the place out prior to the end of the world cup, an amazing opportunity for an amazing experience. We in little ol NZ have people from all over the world wandering our streets, soaking up the atmosphere and its only right I feel for me to be able to say that just once I threw myself into the middle of this whole thing just for the experience!!! So I did, once parked a million miles away from the action I then walked said million miles around just about the whole of the viaduct harbour area, sat for awhile to refresh myself with a very nice cold pint of speights ale and a yarn, then walkedthe million miles back to my car and drove off to be amongst the fools whom think they can drive (perhaps they're not that bad as I did make it home)laugh In all fairness its been the most beautiful day the sun has shone and the wind died down to a breeze and even in the city it was so wonderful to be alive and yet again appreciating the beauty in which I live.

And now I'm off to bed to hopefully have a little night dream or two.....I'll be back tomorrow as its a gonna be a busy day. grin

Wow a beautiful day in paradise today.

Shifted all the calves and cattle into fresh new paddocks today all seemed very happy to be getting some more of the good stuff, a bit like me with the chocolate cake!
Have decided that the big bulls resemble drunk men somewhat. We had to remove two from amongst the heifers today, they're fine when they've got the girls around them but as soon as we get them alone all they wanna do is fight! SOB's. Left them alone for 5 minutes in the same paddock, only to return to a busted fence and bulls in seperate paddocks. The only difference I could see from memory , between bull and drunken men....... they managed to seperate without any intervention.lolyay

Next day....

I hear ya all... thanks for commenting everyone.

So today the weather has been a little up and down. Was dressed to kill this morning....full wet weather gear all in a rather unflattering green, just as well the cows don't mind. And get this, was a crappy day a wee while ago so was wearing my raincoat, then typical of where I live, four seasons in one day, it got fine and hot, so off came the raincoat! Hung it over a rail in the shed and carried on doing my chores....oops forgot all about it til the other day. Discovered it covered in bird pooh, alas whats a girl to do!!!!? Thank goodness it was going to rain this morning when I went to get the cows in so it'd get washed off, 1hour from start to cowshed and none of the forecasted rain fell, normally that'd be great but not today.... me still covered in bird pooh....eeeeeeewwwwww.;-). Rained of course once I was undercover in the cowshed with the girls....when said raincoat is also undercover in milk room.... think some may call this Murphy's Law. Good news is, raincoat finally got a dowsing of good clean rain whilst I was shifting the cattle, so all is now well down on the farm.wave

Down on the farm.

So here I am at home today, back working on the farm tomorrow. I look out my window to the rolling green hills, trees and today, well cloudy skies. Up the way there's a paddock of little calves oh so very cute they are....waiting to be fed their meal, though they haven't started making noise about that yet. Oh and the rooster is crowing.... he is making plenty of noise, must be allowing all others to recognise his territory 'cause this big boy doesn't manage his crowing to only morning, he has a bit of a go anytime of day. The joys of living in paradise!dancing
