This used to be one. I remember this being a friendly place but nowadays it's full of trolls, scammers and thoroughly unpleasant people.
I was watching an advert about some facility for an I phone to download books and I know that E books are available.
I got to thinking that 20 years ago or so we were all listening to vinyl LPs and singles at home and cassette tapes in the car and the best we got was auto reverse and Dolby noise reducdtion.
Now in 2011, vinyl LPs are the domain of a select few enthusiasts and cassettes have dissappeared altogether to be replaced by CD which is now being superceded with MP3s etc and is downloaded in the comfort of your own home.
So, in a few short years from now will paper books be as much consigned to the past. Will libraries and bookshops too dissappear and become only part of the virtual domain? I find modern times, (I suppose everyone believed they were living in modern times, exciting but tinged with sadness as we are losing something wonderful, warm, natural and organic. Books are made from trees afterall!
