Shut up and Kiss Me....

Shut up and kiss me---

I remember that song sung by Mary Chapin Carpenter.

Actually this is about that little boy in Tennessee who is only 12 years old. The one who has the rare cancer that is about to take his
young life. The one that Terbear posted about.

I read blogs here. People moping around moaning about what?
That they can’t find a date for tonight? That they have to give up
coffee (sorry A!) that they hate where they live? That they are still in Love with some person that was just all wrong for them? That
they hate their jobs? At least they have a job! I could go on and on, but I won’t.

The kid’s name is Alex. He is going home to be with his family. He is going home to die. He is making out his Bucket List. Yeah,
At 12 years old, he is thinking about his final days. And, the article goes on to say that he is always happy. That young boy is brave,
strong, wise beyond years. Maybe staring Death in the face does
that to you.

So, here I am in my Golden Years, whatever that means. I am lucky. I am healthy, so far… And, damn it. I am going to enjoy the day…
ps - This lecture is really for ME most of all - I am working on my whining….

The Blog Gods do not favor me!!!

Well, here I am finally viewing your comments on my blog about
10 hours after my post. Would I like to return a comment to you sooner rather than later sure, can I do that No!
You see, I have a dialup Internet connection, the connection that runs through my telephone line and the connection is slow,
very slow. If I upload a photo it could take 20 minutes. Also
if I download an image posted in your blog it could take at least 10 minutes, along with that I can't post or read comments.

Now, I could get in my car and drive to the nearest library where they have a super fast connection, but they won't let me
in the door in my pajamas.
Or, I could move right next to a great big wireless tower and blog away all day posting comments like crazy, (sure!).
So, here I am - just realize when you communicate with me at all it will be just like the good old days when we used smoke signals.

Blog On!

The Duck who loved a Rock...

There was a Duck who fell in love with a Rock. The Rock was big about the same size as the Duck.
Every day the Duck went to sit next to the Rock. 'I love you' he said. Everyone thought the Duck was crazy. 'I wish I knew if
you loved me too'.
Then after much contemplation the Duck decided to move the Rock.
He decided to push the Rock over a cliff. 'At least then I will
know what will happen', the Duck said.
The Duck and several other Ducks carried the Rock to a very big
very high cliff and pushed it off the edge. 'I love you' the
Duck said after pushing the Rock off the cliff.
They watched as the Rock fell very fast then it slowed and started moving from side to side and back and forth. Then it
turned into a big black bird that resembled a Duck.
They all returned to the pond where they lived.
One day the Duck saw the big black bird that resembled a Duck.
It slowly circled above him then flew away.
The Duck turned to a lovely female Duck near him and asked
'would you like a nice big lizard?'

Groundhog Day is here!!!Yes it is!!

If you live in North America you will most likely have hear of the great day,Groundhog Day...that is the day on which according to legend, the groundhog first emerges from hibernation. If it is a sunny day and the groundhog sees its shadow, six more weeks of wintery weather are predicted.

Isn't that silly! What is the sun isn't shining? If I remember correctly and nobody does, well it's questionable.

Now, if you have ever even seen a groundhog, I have, they are everywhere in the countryside where I live. They are really ugly.

The groundhog is also called a woodchuck is a big, brown, dumb, rodent. They burrow into foundations of buildings causing much destruction and grief.

What could be worse - they could grow to 20 feet tall and knock over media towers, then what would the internet junkies do!!!

Just Shy or Introvert?

Be sure to read the excellent article in Feb 8 issue of TIME Mag
on 'the upside of being an introvert'.

You can take the 20 question quiz to find out if you are an innie
or an outie....
well, after answering all 20 with a yes - yup I am an introvert!

But, now it's really OK when I have a panic attack at a party to
crawl under the table or hide out in the ladies room cause there
are 30% of the population out there just like me!

The article goes on to say that we, introverts have fewer friends but our 'relationships tend to be deep and rewarding', whew, we are better at listening cause we do less talking, also,
by preferring to work alone and a love of solitude offers up a
challenge of personal creative development.

So, at last, I've learned that balancing being an introvert in
the world of extroverts yes, 'there are days when we'd prefer to
do nothing more than stay at home. But while our temperaments may
define us, that doesn't mean we're controlled by them'...so
that means I AM NORMAL (well, some of the time)...

OK - that's it, time to Blog, Why???

I have no desire to meet a man who is young enough to be either my son or nephew. I have posted on my profile desirable ages from 55-99 in age preferences.

I get, almost daily, lovely messages from younger men anywhere from 25 to 50 wanting to meet me! and they are not scammers, the photos aren't sleek enough, really!!

Now, I try to answer back with something like thank you for the
lovely------God Bless!

Then I get back, age is just a number. Love has no age.

So, even though I am flattered by this attention!!cheering cheering sad flower

Where are all the 60 somethings out there (maybe looking for the
20 somethings!) sigh sigh sigh ???

just a DayDreamer!!

today is the shortest day here....

I live in southeastern Michigan. Today is the shortest day of the year here...sun comes up around 7:30am and sets at 4:30pm.
Temps have been really mild for December mostly highs in the 30'S fahrenheit. No snow of significance yet, we can get hit at
any time though.
My idea of the 'perfect storm' is snowing like crazy on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day arriving with sunshine so we can
view the magical wonderland of snow - then let it all melt away
for another year (I realize this is pure fantasy).
