WE WALKED, AMONGST THE DEAD.

Went off yesterday, Good-Friday, with my girl Jen, from Ohio, to visit the ancient, over 800 year ruins of, Athassel Abbey, Golden, in Tipperary, its a crumbling ruin, much in decay, still it holds some of its former splendor, we enjoyed our stroll around, though on occasion, we felt, we were not alone.,,,,note, you can click on the photo's, for full size images.

...built in the 12th century, Athassel was the most impressive achievement of the Augustinians, one of the most extensive monasteries in Ireland, the church is dedicated to St. Edmund, King and Martyr...

standing in the main Chapel, for perspective, the Monastery was built in Cruciform shape, with side chapels, the site is extensive, this being but a small part, built over 4 acres.

hoping Jennifer, whom i met on C.S. doesn't lose the head too, LOL,,,,thank you C.S. for the gift of her, i love her dearly.

we both wished standing here, to hear the ghostly singing of Gregorian chant, by the Augustinian monks, once more, how beautiful that would be.

again standing in for perspective, i cant even imagine, the former grandeur, of this place, now falling, brick, by brick, alas.

TO BE, BESIDE THE SEASIDE

Went to the Beach yesterday, it has a timeless attraction for me, or is it just those childhood memories, of sand-castles, and Bathing, games played amidst the rock-pools, that stir the child in us again, childhood memories of buckets and spades, and childhood friends long gone away, the child in me walked the sea-shore yesterday, and i was a child again.

I LOVED HER,,to her very bones,,

I loved her, to her very bones, for she was transparent, in all her dealings, she hid nothing from me, i fell into her, literally, but in the end, it wasn't enough, in the end, i could see through her, and it rattled me, she offered to buy a see-through night-dress, to spice things up, but it was too late for that, sadly, sometimes we get to know people too intimately, the voyage of discovery, is over, she had revealed too much of herself.
