Many people sign up online to find that special person and many are dissapointed on a daily basis. I always say that the difference between online dating and offline dating is that potential partners are in a pool(one place). The same happens online as in offline, you get rejected, brushed off, people talk to you then drop you like a hot potato and the rest that comes with finding a potential mate.
Many people delude themselves in thinking that online dating is easy and as time goes by they find themselves without a potential mate. Go to the average male or female profile and you will see that they want basically the same thing. Now if they want the same thing then why are people not hooking up more?. The answer is in change. People in general do not like to change. If they change their attitude, desires and expectations then they will be more apt to find someone special.
I understand that the real world dating is harsh. I have become accustomed to the harshness of looking for a mate but many people never builds up that resistance and they almost rely solely on online dating. The first thing you have to tell yourself is no matter what you read in a profile, that person wants exactly what they would have wanted in the real world. We all know what that is but many choose to play dumb or suddenly become diagnosed with selective memory. Just for that I would remind you of the two most important ones:
1. They want good looks
2. Financial stability
We are all self centered in our own ways. And being self centered can have its benefit to a certain extent but we need to understand when it causes us to lose out on things that can be beneficial to us.
To sum things up, online and offline dating is virtually(no pun intended) the same.
One day a man was walking down the street, suddenly he comes across a woman crying by her parked car at the drivers side. He goes over to her and says "Ms what's the problem?". She replies "my keys are locked in the car and I need to pick up my kid from kindergarten". He says "I can help but you need to turn around". She asks why but he tells her to please do it. She hesitantly turns around and 5 seconds later she hears a click and the door opens. She says "that's amazing how did you do that?", he replies "I'm wearing my khaki(car key) pants".
