Its rare on here that one does meet a person one can talk to and seem to get along with and start to make a connection with. And then reality of the situation comes knocking. He's a million miles away on the other side of the world. So what do you do? Just continue talking, which is a pleasure, continue saying hello to others on here... nice to hope for more friends. Because as rare as it is to make a real connection here, it is as equally rare to actually meet the person from the other side of the world...share a smile and the smell of a cup of coffee. Just not as easy as one thinks in one's mind.
DO we ever dare to hope that it can happen for real? Or are we all just jaded and joking and teasing those who may hope for the real thing?
Me I choose to be naive and believe.. It is possible...

Who are my fellow artist? What kind of work do you do? How about we blog about our latest work, and bounce creatively of each other.. And no!.. wrong idea.. ONLY thing here bouncing is ideas in heads...
... for a scammer to think he has put in enough effort to scam you for money. They all seem to have the following in common:
1. They are away on a business trip
2. They have had a family member pass away(not recently, but just said as a way to create sympathy)
3. They have fallen madly in love with you (far too quickly)and want you to only be talking to them so as to isolate you and increase their chances
4. They seem to avoid all direct questions you ask about them
5. If you ask for additional photos, there is always a reason why it cant be given
6. If you try and search them online, you cant find any or almost no reference to the person
7. They are busy with some big deal and have run short of funds and need your help
8. The amount is always over a $1000 dollars, to make it worth their while
9. They only say the right things and are very generous with they affections and want to marry you and even phone you professing their interest, but from a private no.
10. as soon as you say you have no money to give they stop talking to you altogether because they have lost the game. Or send you a mail making you feel bad because how can you insult them in such a way, and then no further contact is made. The surest sign that it was all just a scam!
I just had the sad news that a friend of mine on here has actually received a death threat from a scammer that she found out to be a scammer.. If any of you have had such, without it actually becoming true, (asif you'd be here to tell if it did, duh!), please post on here. I think it will put her at ease because she is actually a little scared right now. My heart goes out to her.

I must admit I find it sad that I now have to approach everyone that contacts me, first like a scammer.Where has simple trust and the joy of meeting new people gone, LOL?
I have an idea. Perhaps there should be a standard type of pic required... Like say one with you holding a code that is given to you before you may sign up on a piece of paper so in that way verify its a new pic. And only when that is received by the administrators are you allowed to join or your profile will say "verified" and if you choose not too, it should carry a warning. All of us can take pictures in this day and age of electronics.Those pics don't need to be published. What do you say? Good or bad idea? I know its a bit more work, but its a lot more work being strung along by some criminal..
