I think he was taking the words "honest and caring" too literally. I can't speak for any one else but I will tell everyone what it means to me.
Honest AKA not fake, shares feeling (that is a big one) not keeping important secrets, and as for little white lies , I personally don't sweat the small stuff. But its always stupid to catch someone in a pointless lie when the truth is so easy to tell. Lying is hard work, coming up with a good lie, remembering it, telling it more then once. I don’t need to remember the truth, and it will still be true. I would rather be told the truth and get hurt then be in a relationship based on a lie. Being truthful is a sing of respect.
Caring AKA: interested in the other person’s feelings, (to the guys out there)I think most women REALLY like it when their guy pays attention to what she is saying. Even if it does not seem important, or seems like bitching. It’s even more important to pay attention when she is bitching, or “sharing her feelings with him”. When I rant I just want sympathy. I'm generally not looking for a solution to the problem but someone to understand how I feel. It also means being loving, showing affection/ tenderness and being thoughtful.
To me honest and caring is all about communication.
