Photos on profiles

Hi all, I was wondering what other think about listings without photos? Remember, "only with the heart one can see rightly: What is essential is invisible to the eye". Thus, what is inside will always outweigh the outer shell. Besides, who wants a great looking partner/friend if they haven't got "personality", tolerance, the same value system as you, "whatever" etc. Saying that, I prefer photos simply to gain an appreciation of whom I am talking to rather than a generic cut-out. It just makes that little more personal and friendly. handshake

Well put, Crashhere5555 cheering
a head shot, at least, never hurt anybody.
It depends on what you are looking for. If you are just wanting to be friends, then a photo is nothing but a courtesy one would give another person just so they can put a face and smile together with the words.
However, if you are online and saying you are looking for your soulmate, a serious relationship, or anything of that nature. To not expect or want the person to see you is absolutely ludicrous. Truly one cannot expect a relationship to develop without seeing the other person.
True, one can argue that they do not need for the whole WORLD to see them. It just does not work that way. I suppose one could withold a photo until they were sure they wanted the other persons attention, it would make it a bit more complicated though. Often people (I know I have) let their hearts write checks their eyes will not cash, if you know what I mean. I have gotten involved with women only to find out they did not look ANYTHING like I thought or they told me. That can be very embarassing, if not a sticky situation from which to remove yourself.
It is a sad thing, in some respects that we are such a deverse race of creatures, and need to be attracted to a person's looks. However, it is a sad fact of life that all people are attracted to different things. We tend to judge what a person is like based on their looks. Not only that, but like you eat with your eyes first, you also are attracted to what you see before you you take the next step.
It is a shame it is not touch, a smell, or taste, or just a warm feeling. Unfortunately we are vain creatures that depend on what we see to start our thought process moving.
