My great-grandparents were from China and they sure brought along their own folk songs when they came and settled down in Malaysia during the early 30's.

However, since I was born and bred in Malaysia ( so were my grandparents and parents ) I'm only exposed to the Malay traditional songs, partly because I was sent to a Malay school unlike my other childhood friends who were mostly sent to Chinese schools.

Anyway, here's one of my favourites.....

I managed to find a compilation of some of my childhood folk songs. Used to sing this at school. Brings back a lot of memories...
