What are people trying to find here?

For what it's worth I originally came to this site to find that special someone and I found him. I also made some friends along the way. This week due to a number of reasons including bad health, I hid my profile for a day intending it to be longer whilst considering to stay or leave. A friend who has left the site and has kept in touch with me persuaded me to stay so I'm back feeling a lot better and don't regret my decision. On the whole this is a good site. Friendships are formed and out of those friendships there is a chance of meeting the person you want to be with. Continue trying and if you feel tired or need a break do like I did hide your profile and gather your strength. You will come back feeling a lot better for the rest, it worked for me. I wish you luck.

I understand your concerns but I agree with the above comments. This is a strange mix of social interactions and it was pretty overwhelming when I came here. But with an open mind I've learned a thing or two about other people and also dating. Telling the truth can mean many things; if you're assertive and aggressive you will naturally be shunned. I've told my "truths" quite openly and sure some have mocked me, but mostly people are just joking around. There are all kinds and some are sincerely interested but may not come forth because of shyness or some other reason. Diversity is the name of this game! Don't worry, there are plenty who are looking for Mr or Ms Right here.
