Winter's Sweet Forgetfulness
When winter's light kisses my cheekIn darkness pale I weep silently
Lost in memories that torture my soul
I seek which shadows hide
My mind will not be silenced
Yet still I cannot move
Reaching to what no touch can feel
I lay
I see my fingers on his cheek
Though clear my eyes are clouded
His voice as ghostly as any fiend
But calling to me he does not stop
My heart, an aching beyond all meaning
I cringe in pain so deep
Eyes closed though better seeing
I open them to Moonlight's pity
Begging does not help this time
So waiting as one I must
Holding onto bittersweetness
Fingertips that caress the breeze
And dreaming sweetly of you, my dear,
My lost in ages far gone
Until I find you again...
