A simple poem to share

I wrote this poem back in 81. It tells of my concern over the demise of the rain forests. I think time will restore all.


TIME v TIME

A mountain strong,
A simple song,
Thoughts held for ever more.
A feeble frame,
A drop of rain,
A mother’s love it’s just in vain.


Ten thousand sentries tall and strong,
Linked by arms they sing no song,
But stand defiant as they fall,
With out a sound one and all.
No graves have they to mark the day,
No monuments of stone and clay,
And time will trample on the scene,
With only memories of what once had been.
All around a whispered grown,
As simple life seeks a home,
But time will leave no where to roam,
As man must turn the final stone.

A mountain strong,
A simple song,
A memory,
What went wrong?
Man can cry… but can he fly?
