Alexandre Dumas is probably best known for his book, 'The Three Musketeers'. But he also wrote a rather extensive cookbook, 'Grand Dictionnaire de Cuisine'.
'Dumas on Food' is a collection of some of the recipes that were in his book, translated by Alan and Jane Davidson.
Most of the recipes have some sort of trivia or short story associated with them. The recipes include everything from swan to bears.
