The expression means when you are at your wit's end and have reached an impasse with someone usually in a polarized argument situation. It does not literally mean flogging a dead horse.

Elainets: Hi at least we are getting to discuss things here and most is so true one example of someone new being pushed out by treats was Sarah7 she has left for a few weeks and does not know if she will return or not and she was lovely but left in tears getting treats in her mail as well it was the final insult for her

I know. Im just joking. Threats are no good. I had a problem in that direction on another site like this and I deactivated and left. I didnt want to take any chances with it.

It must put off lots of new people posting, and lots of the regulars have for their own reasons just left or cant even be bothered to post anymore.
