how long does it take to mend a broken heart ? (20)

before i joined cs i was in an intensly emotional relationship. it lasted more than three years. finding it very hard to move on. i love this site and the get togethers and i will admit the flowers and mail give me something to look forward to, BUT how do i mend my heart? how do i move on ?

You will have heard this many times before and you will hear it many times again give yourself time time time. There are stages you have to go through to get to the other side and you cant rush through it or avoid it. I always relate a broken heart to an athlete thats had an injury the have to rest to let the injury heal and then slowly they start to train again building up all the time til they have healed they wouldnt be out competing the next day after an injury its all about time and healing and a breakup is the same. You have to allow yourself feel the emotions and stages the shock, the grief, the hating, the icecream, the insecurity, then the chocolate, then the girls nights out and getting used to being alone again, then the rebuilding of your confidence. Be good to yourself treat yourslef do thing that you couldnt have done if you were still with this person do things for you and not other people and realise everything happens for a reason you may not understand it at the time but sometime in the future it will all click into place.

Yes it takes a very long time 4 a broken heart 2 mend. I was in a relationship for seven years and we both loved one another dearly, it has taken me two years to mend my heart and to move on, its hard, every now and then I think back and the floods of tears come back, the thing is to forget about the times you had together. Mending a heart takes as long as the individual wants it to take.

In truth the answer is different for all of us. It depends how much loss is involved for me. However, recently, I learned, that whatever it was that you most loved about the person and miss, is the thing you need to give yourself. Seemingly, we have it within us..............

exactly to the point, we have all got to get out there and date and find our prince or princess.

Ive had enough heartache of my own to last me a life time, but as a single mum i thought id never be able to date again, after two years ive finally joined this dating site and im hoping i get to find mr right sum day,

It mends itself. Ive been told that it takes half the time you've been with the person to forget them and get over them

however with a lot of people you need down time to realise life is not all bad and then move on... i dont belive in dwelling on things i feel that makes them worse but we do have to identify why we are feeling down whether it be a realtonship ending or depression whatever it s once we identify then its easier to heal.. and of course being honest with yourself is very major aswell...

i think moving on means your no longer thinkin of the person first thing in the morning and last thing at night, when your phone goes off you arent hopin it them, and your not running off with random people to prove to everyone (really yourself) you can pull.... thats me but we all different
