Yeah, I'm a little late. But I work about 2 miles from Three Mile Island. I was just wondering what you were doing during the "melt down". I remember I was in high school, my freshman year. We were told we were being let out early. We all went to the lobby & looked out, expecting to see a green sky. We went home & gathered in my friend's yard, expecting to see the same. But it never appeared. We went back to school & never thought twice about it.
A few years ago, I dated a guy who had a place on an island opposite from TMI. We made jokes about it, but around here, we really don't take it so seriously.
I was just 11... I was probably too terrified of my mother standing over me with a carving knife and screeching at me... some big reactor across the country was not on my mind.

I remember it happening. I grew up about an hour south of Cleveland, so it definitely made the news. I went to school not far from the Bessie Davis nuclear plant in Ohio and thinking that it wouldn't be good for that to happen there. Was also concerned about the radio-active cloud traveling west to my area.
