kellydenise: i did not read this whole thread, so, i am sorry if i am off base. but, IN MY EXPERIENCE/OBSEEVATION (and my job), the reason a lot of people qualify as low income is because no one marries anymore. kids are brought in by single moms on welfare. it is more profitable. dads may or may not be in the picture. but if they are not, usually a working boyfriends is. many low income people have other income, whethere they live with their boyfriends or work under the table.
i live in one of the poorest cities in the nation (per these statitics), yet, the shopping malls are packed, there are waiting lines in the nicer resterants, and everyone has an SUV. I honestly do not see too many people really struggling. but i suppose it depends on what you consider struggling.
i would love to know the common theme as i need to go to sleep, gotta get up at 430 am for work.
Well, they could struggle filling up those SUV's when gas is $4.00 a gallon...come on now, get sensitive.

i have lived in a few different states, and for the low income people cleveland (ohio) is def. a profitable place to live. maybe not the cash benefits, but the other benefits are really, really excellent here.
