Go for it hun!!!
Just do it, you are both friends already so thats a great basis for any relationship and to be honest it will feel a little strange at first thinking of a friend in a romantic and physical way but it passes very very quickly. Dont rush into it take it slowly although you know her as a friend you dont know her as a girlfriend so take it slowly and do the dating and the romancing dont presume because you know her that you can rush past that phase you cant its still very important.
Look life is too short just make that leap and do it,you dont want to be sitting back in 5 or 10 years time thinking what if... its better to regret the things you have done than the chances you havent taken.
I would say fair play to the girl for making the first move that must have taken some amount of courage for her to do that.
Im hoping that it does work out for you both but you never know how things will work out but thats just life and if it doesnt again dont think you can go back to being friends you also need that transition period before you can go back to being friends and to be honest some people cant but others can.

If she has always onl wanted to be mates, and you had more stronger feelings, and now her feeling for you have gotten stronger, i would go for it.
