I just wanted to let everyone know that its been 2 weeks now that my son has been wearing his back brace.
everything is going great.
we saw the back specialist on monday and while he's wearing his brace his curve goes from 22% to 12%. They told us that our son is really flexible and its a good sign.
My son was so happy...it seemed like 10 pounds just fell off his shoulders.
He'll be able to play basketball and soccer this summer (without a back brace)
he has to spend lots of time in the pool.
I think that everything will be fine

The doc told his dad and I that the english...(ireland-england-scotland)have a higher risk to have scoliosis than the french!!! mmy son's dad is french, so I guess I musted transmitted that to him.
What I wanted to know, if anyone had to deal with this and how can I help my son get used to his brace?
are there activities that he wont be able to do???

hi sorry 2 ere bot yr son, i learned bot scoliosis in college nd i'm afraid ders nt many activites he can do its v important he dnt bend his spine etc nd giv it a chance 2 heal etc ,if ur son spine dnt heal ta rite way now it can effect him in yrs 2 com nd he cud end up worse off, i know dat wont b easy coz my son is 10 nd he loves al kinds of sports, try changin ta name nd puttin stickers on it or tel ur son u'l buy him something nice if he wares it,
ur doc sud hav inter net sites 2 help u nd as time goes on ta doc might let ur son do activites as he heals more, i hope it al works out 4 ur son
