im not sure or understand the reason for ghosts but i find it a fascinating subject.most people live a lifetime and never experience one.i did have an experience with one at a very young age. thats another story. here is the story of the westport haunted house. it was built in the mid 1970s. in a residental neighborhood a split level ranch--three bed room--fire place--family room--two car garage -- picture window set on about an acre of land.it had three owners in two years everyone living saying it was haunted and telling the same story.no one could live there.the third owner staying there the lomgest four days.when the story first got to me it was perhaps 1985. i jumped into my car drove down to see what it looked like. the directions were quite easy first exit off rt. 6 sanford road. the first time i seen it it was overgrown with weeds and vines. the windows broken a few boarded up. no trspassing signs all over the place.no for sale sign. i would have considered buying it if it come up for sale. years go by every time im in the area i go a little out of my way to check on its condition.there is a strip bar a short distance i been known to frequent . a place i go to relax. eventually a 6 foot tall chain link fence circled the property with spot lights on all four sides. more keep out signs. weeds continuing to grow.now its winter of 2009 i have to do jury duty down that way . after court i imediatly made my way to chech on my favorite haunted house. to my surprise it was gone. torn down. the fence and foundation still there. im wondering if another house will be built and if the hauntings will continue. time will tell. now for the question. if the house were still there knowing the story i just told you would you spend a night alone in it? now it gets better you have no lights only a candel and its thundering and lightning.keeping in mind a ghost cant hurt you . they can only scare you. myself i say yes i would sit in a chair with my candel and wait for something to happen. if i really did see a ghost i dont know what i would do. i dont think i would walk up to it. honestly i suspect i would run.i know all women are a bunch of chickens i question if any would even enter the house. now the offer---i will give ten thousand dollars to anyone that can show me a ghost in there house. i want to see it and be convinced its real. no tricks. look up on the computer westport haunted house. someone else has written the same story.

Interesting...Have you done any research on the property. Indian burial grounds maybe?
The Hotel Del Coronando in San Diego has 2 haunted rooms, much has been written on it. I stayed in both rooms, in one of the rooms my cell phone would not turn on, other than that nothing.

I also stayed at the Mytles Plantation in St. Francisville, La. It was built in the 1700's, again you can google that. I met a few people there with some stories, but I experienced nothing!

personally, I don't believe in Ghosts. I believe when someone dies, his/her sprite just go along too, but I do think it comes back and live at the same grave that the body was bared or rested at.

what my culture and I believe is that there is another being that lives among us. We call it Jinny. We believe that they were created from the flam of the fire same as the devil.

Some are peaceful and some are not but the can not harm you unless you harm them first and they do act as the same as what you believe that Ghosts do.

that is how they know things about a person dead or alive and that is how some people communicate with such Jinny and they can tell you privet things about you or about dead people.

this is how my culture believe identify such odd events and unexplained mysterious events and incidents including real Magicians act not those tricks handlers we see on TV.

I have never encounter such incidents and I hope that I never do

cool story..........may i add women are not chickens we jst voice ourselves more clearly than men.......moving on if another hse is built then yes the hauntings will continue.
