Didn't you already do a thread like this? My advice is to do a search of people around your area and email them to see if they would like to catch up for a friendly drink at a local bar or a coffee somewhere. Explain that you are new to the area and just want to meet some new people about town. Good luck, it sucks being away from home and feeling all alone.
