I said that he would never have been against the "Welfare State"
After all if he could have he would have have lived off it .
He didn't work and lived off Engels ,read that if you are so inclined .

he was a socialist anyway it seems to have gone over your head so there is'nt much point in continuing this communism is the evolution of marx thinking but it's still socialism marx considered himself to be a socialist. it was lenin and stalin who changed what socialism was marx saw no seperation alot of things are up for debate but not marx beliefs as he said democracy was the path to socialism one of the few things i disagree with him onMarx believed in Communism , that was his socail and political stance .

ciotog: I'm surprised by how many people see nothing wrong with taking from society. The welfare state was intended to help and support people when they need it not to duck from their responsibilities to a just and fair society. Even if it's just a small amount, the problem is that a small amount becomes a gradually bigger amount easily, it's just a matter of personal justification that ends in the large amounts of fraud and corruption we see around us today. Our government is of the people and for it to be honest then honesty must prevail in us, the people. The thieving of our politicians is a reflection on the society that gives them their power.
I can understand how benefit fraud gets alot of airtime, but the reality is that it pales into nothing compared to tax evasion - i.e people not paying the correct taxes on their full income ( cash in hand etc ). It amuses me looking at the profiles of some of the folks here so against benefit faud who say they are self-employed......have you all paid tax on all your income in the last few years???????
