You've been dating for a while and decide to get married, after the wedding you move in to set up house in the same house as your IN-LAWS! Its been know to happen here in certain cultures where the girl goes off to go live with the boy's parents and maybe a few more in-laws all on one house(for example they may live downstairs and the parents live up stairs) Maybe a sister law and brother-in-law might live on another part of the property with their families. There are occasions when all this communal living can lead to friction. Would you mind having your in-laws living in the same house as you and think it could be interesting? Or would you prefer your privacy and see this kind of living arrangement as a recipe for trouble? Would men mind this type of living arrangement with their mother and father-in-law on a permanent basis?

I ocationally tend to wander around the house at night naked. I dont think that would go over real well with the inlaws.rolling on the floor laughing bouquet

It's not my place to knock cultural traditions or financial necessities, but if you ask my personal opinion, I'd prefer to pass on the opportunity. If I develop a partnership with someone, I'd want us to create something new together, not be limited by the "shoulds" and obligations of the past. Visiting family is one thing, but living with them limits our growth.

Well you wouldn't want to give your poor mother-in-law that kind of SURPRISE(and possible heart attack) as she wandered to the fridge to get a late night snack.rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

I would not do it. Even thugh it has been suggested. (Shudder) lol. I want him all to myself, and it ain't happenin. And I do not like wearing clothes all the time either, so it would not work for us. I think too many people all close together is trouble.

I even have a son I dread leaving, because he gets sick a whole lot, and is hospitalized often. I set him up with his siblings, and it is working for him. Don has suggested he come with us, but I told him. No, we get at least a year alone.

It would be difficult enough for me to be living with a partner after a few years of living on my own so I know I couldn't do it with the In laws.

Anyway I'd want my own kitchen haha!!!!

Well if you had to do it out of necessity it could work if you had a good relationship with your in-laws and they respected the fact that you are married adults. I know a lot of problems arise with the girls and mother-in-laws, where the mother-in-law likes telling the wife how stuff should be done for her son and giving unwanted advice on everything.

I understand you on this, my future solution would be......

1 x kitchen ( it's nice to work together in the kitchen I think )

2 x toilets ( a his and a hers )

2 x TV, chill, lounge, music rooms ( 1 each but always with an open door )

2 x gardens ( well, 1 garden ( Hers ) and 1 putting green grin )

1 x Car

1 x Motor bike

1 x bedroom blushing

grin Bliss

I know what you mean but seriously I'd wait until we could have our own place if that was the situation. I like my privacy too much...

Can you imagine having your mother in law tell you how to cook your husbands food etc?

I'm pretty easy going but That would take a bit of doing

I came home after a pleasant week in Georgia and my daughter in-law was here. Ugh!!! My son asked me if I would cook? (her Husband) He said and I quote. "Ma, I bought food, can you cook it I am starving." Girlfriend can only cook chicken, and my son said he was tired of it. They had been here a week, and had three more to go.
She tried to instruct me on how to season his food, and everything, but she did not once say let me help. I already can not stand this woman... But that is another thread. So, no if I could help it. I do not want anybody telling me how to treat my man. They have only been Married since August 1st.
