Wow!!! I'm gone for a few months, come back and still a ghost "state." Geez Minnesota!!!We are no. 1 in "lame." We've got to change the stats!! Unfortunately, it will probably take 3 months for someone to actually read this. Here, Here!! This is a special message to all who have come to Minnesota from places far and wide and can't seem to find friends from Minnesota. I intend to organize a get-together so that those of us not from Minnesota can connect. So, out-of-staters please stay tuned and check "new events planned." wave

Whoa... MissRebel. I find myself wondering what it is you intend to accomplish coming in here like a bull in a china closet?

I agree it is kind of quiet here; maybe too quiet... no matter, it is what it is. I try to work with what is presented; not wanting to change anyone. I have found women here I may be interested in, however, one seems to enjoy just teasing me on-line and the other I've exchanged a few massages with isn't in the forums and doesn't check in to pick up mail for weeks going on months. Both may be intimidated with taking an on-line connection into the real world... no matter, they are who they are and do what they do.

Truth be told, I have met women friends on-line from other places and easily move to phone conversation. And I've corresponded with more men than women on-line in Minnesota, opposed to RL, where I have an easier time talking with women than men. So go figure... many times I've found that's just the way it is in this cyber world. And so I present myself here and correspond with those who will appreciate who I am, where I'm at, what I have to offer and want to be more than a picture and words on a screen.

I read much more than I write in the forums, choosing most of the time to stay out of political, religious and off the wall stupid threads started by trolls and windups; getting or giving a laugh here and there while avoiding fanatics and whackos that seem only to want an argument or fight. I feel much more like participating here and there in some of the more fun threads. However, I talk much easier than I type; sometimes takes forever to compose and be clear and then I'm a day or more late and several pages past a comment I've chosen to respond to. I'd much rather find people I can connect with in a few messages, move to talk on the phone and have more freedom of movement while living my life and getting my work done instead of wasting time sitting at this keyboard.

All that said, you might want to try being more positive, go back to other threads you started and posted to during the week you were here last and pick up the pieces left there. However IMO, starting yet another negative, critical thread, calling people names will not move anyone, even those from out of the area, to want friendship, much less participate in "new events planned". Beyond that, you say you've lived in other places and found the same problems. With that in mind, have you ever thought that there may be a more personal common element?

Bohemianjack, first of all if you're trying to suggest that my statement, "we are no. 1 in lame," is bashing someone personally, that was not the case. The statement had to do with the lack of activity in the Minnesota forums. I was not personally attacking any one individual. If you felt that I was in attack mode, that's your problem.

Second, you are incorrect in stating that I said "I'd lived in other places and found the same problems." Quite to the contrary, I've lived in 3 states and never encountered a problem making friends except here in Minnesota. Go back and re-read the thread/post that you are referring too.

Third, I know better than to expect friendship from someone born in Minnesota, it's just not happening and I can live with that. I also read posts from others from my previous thread and find that obviously I'm not the only person not from Minnesota who has experienced the "not so Minnesota Nice." Correct me if I'm wrong but I also stated that the message was intended to bring together people who are not from Minnesota to get-together.

Finally I have no idea what you mean by, "as far as a more personal common element." If you are trying to suggest that the problem is me and other out-of-staters and not all the "Minnesota Nice" people here, nice try, but I'm not buying it nor am I going to lose any sleep over what you or anybody else think about what I've posted. Have a good evening!

You're right; stereo-typical Minnesotan, obviously out of line and misunderstanding your attitude.

Oh, I intend to carry on, with and without your permission! Furthermore, I have no intention of clicking on your little "youtube" video. I'm not into youtube, facebook, myspace or any of that other juvenile mess that seems to be so popular these days. I prefer "individual" mentality as oppposed to a "group" mentality. I think for myself and don't let others tell me that I should do what everybody else is doing. Just because you can't tear yourself away from "youtube," don't assume everyone else is spell-bound by that site.

As for my attitude, it is what it is. If you don't like it, by-pass my threads/posts. One thing you can bank on is the fact that I will most definitely NOT be kissing anyone's butt, especially if they're from Minnesota and as for my phone ringing or not ringing, that's MY business. You mind yours and I'll tend to mine! How's that for attitude??!!!roll eyes
