Minnesota??? Are We Even Still On The Map???!!!!

Oh, I intend to carry on, with and without your permission! Furthermore, I have no intention of clicking on your little "youtube" video. I'm not into youtube, facebook, myspace or any of that other juvenile mess that seems to be so popular these days. I prefer "individual" mentality as oppposed to a "group" mentality. I think for myself and don't let others tell me that I should do what everybody else is doing. Just because you can't tear yourself away from "youtube," don't assume everyone else is spell-bound by that site.

As for my attitude, it is what it is. If you don't like it, by-pass my threads/posts. One thing you can bank on is the fact that I will most definitely NOT be kissing anyone's butt, especially if they're from Minnesota and as for my phone ringing or not ringing, that's MY business. You mind yours and I'll tend to mine! How's that for attitude??!!!roll eyes

RE: why are americans so afraid of everything

Thank you shybutnice for your kind comments!! They are much appreciated.wave

RE: why are americans so afraid of everything

We don't just march with a sign. We also do homeless outreach, but we can't cover every bridge or underpass that the homeless may use. We can't look in every doorway in two urban cities to find every homeless soul out there. Our "homeless march" is covered on the local news every December. I have personally put together busloads of protestors and gone to Washington, spoke with our representatives to try and get a handle on the homeless situation in America, so if you're clueless, you need to get a clue before you speak of things you know nothing about!

RE: why are americans so afraid of everything

If you're in Switzerland, just what the hell do you have to do with whose money is helping who in America? Why don't you mind your own damn business in Switzerland and leave Americans to mind ours. I don't think that the state of our economy affected yours, other than the fact that your country allows corporate executives from America to hid huge sums of money in your country's banks. That's probably why you're upset because some of your cronies are now running from the Feds because America is cracking down on those foreign accounts.

RE: why are americans so afraid of everything

Here in Minnesota, every December a church hosts, "March For The Homeless Who Have Died." All of us who volunteer helping the homeless march for miles, each holding a sign with the name of a person who died from homelessness in America. Children 11, 9, 5 years old because we do not have enough beds in winter. A man burned himself alive while in a cardboard box just trying to keep warm because he was homeless. Women who have lost their minds because they have been homeless for soo long, out on the streets, abused, etc., and you have the nerve to ask me what I've seen in other countries? I don't have to look elsewhere to find human suffering, it's right in my own backyard and I'm trying to be part of the solution by helping instead of part of the problem. Now, you believe what you will.

RE: why are americans so afraid of everything

Well...why don't you just knock it off for me!! I can post my opinion based on my experiences and you have the same right. If you don't like what I post, you have the option to skip it, I suggest you use that option in the future because trust me, you NEVER will like what I post!!!

Minnesota??? Are We Even Still On The Map???!!!!

Bohemianjack, first of all if you're trying to suggest that my statement, "we are no. 1 in lame," is bashing someone personally, that was not the case. The statement had to do with the lack of activity in the Minnesota forums. I was not personally attacking any one individual. If you felt that I was in attack mode, that's your problem.

Second, you are incorrect in stating that I said "I'd lived in other places and found the same problems." Quite to the contrary, I've lived in 3 states and never encountered a problem making friends except here in Minnesota. Go back and re-read the thread/post that you are referring too.

Third, I know better than to expect friendship from someone born in Minnesota, it's just not happening and I can live with that. I also read posts from others from my previous thread and find that obviously I'm not the only person not from Minnesota who has experienced the "not so Minnesota Nice." Correct me if I'm wrong but I also stated that the message was intended to bring together people who are not from Minnesota to get-together.

Finally I have no idea what you mean by, "as far as a more personal common element." If you are trying to suggest that the problem is me and other out-of-staters and not all the "Minnesota Nice" people here, nice try, but I'm not buying it nor am I going to lose any sleep over what you or anybody else think about what I've posted. Have a good evening!

RE: Another failed presidency..................Barack Obama..................

Exactly, Bruce and I agree with you 100%.

RE: Another failed presidency..................Barack Obama..................

So, you and your "friends" are scared of President Obama, what a load of crap!! If that's the case, if you celebrate Halloween in Canada, don't go outside, you just may have a heart attack from looking at people in costumes.

Seriously, what has President Obama did to you and your "friends" that scare you? Let's see, could it be that he obviously loves his wife, has two cute little girls, is accepting of ideas from others(unlike Bush), isn't afraid to mingle with average Americans, is respectful of other peoples' opinions, is diplomatic(the opposite of Bush) or is it simply because the man is BLACK??<----Anyone with a grain of sense knows that's the reason you and your "friends" are scared of President Barack Obama. "Oh, those big scary black men, let me get to the other side of the street before they steal my purse." Well hollandgirl, President Obama doesn't need what's in your purse, he's a multi-millionaire, are you?roll eyes

New Rebel here!!!

Ooby sweetie, Al Franken is the newest Senator. We still have ole stodgy face Pawlenty as governor and I can't wait til he leaves next year. Yes, I will certainly accept congrats for helping to elect Al Franken since I voted for him. Ole Norm just couldn't accept no until he had too!!professor yay

RE: Another failed presidency..................Barack Obama..................

Excuse me hollandgirl in Okanagan Valley B.C. Canada, British Columbia Canada, but what was the purpose in posting that article from "American Thinker by Geoffrey P. Hunt? President Obama has only been in office for 9 months and your "American Thinker" is already stating that he's failed. Well, neither you nor this "American Thinker" you've run across think for me. If you're in Canada, what do you have to do with what's going on here in America? If you have a problem with America's policies affecting Canada's then say so using your own words.

President Obama inherited 2 wars, he didn't start. He inherited the biggest economic crisis since the Great Depression, he didn't start that either. Jobs have been outsourced by the millions for decades, not just since January 20, 2009. I don't really have to explain anything about what is going on in America to you because if you don't live here, it's really none of your business. It's certainly none of your business if you live in Canda that welfare recipients get a cell phone in America. If your tax dollars are not paying for it, then what the hell difference does it make to you?

Sanctimonious, holier-than-thou hypocrites like yourself make me sick. If your economic situation is going great, that does in no way give you the right to put others down who are not so well off. If you're on this site looking for a significant other, just search for these screen names:Heartless or Mr.Inconsiderate or Mr. LetThemEatCake or Mr Insensitve, ColdasIce, etc., you get the picture!!! very mad

Minnesota??? Are We Even Still On The Map???!!!!

Wow!!! I'm gone for a few months, come back and still a ghost "state." Geez Minnesota!!!We are no. 1 in "lame." We've got to change the stats!! Unfortunately, it will probably take 3 months for someone to actually read this. Here, Here!! This is a special message to all who have come to Minnesota from places far and wide and can't seem to find friends from Minnesota. I intend to organize a get-together so that those of us not from Minnesota can connect. So, out-of-staters please stay tuned and check "new events planned." wave
