what a bunch of fekking moaners.. even when it is absolutely certain the 5-6% paycut is going to happen, the public sector are yet again going striking.. it really does anger me and im sure it angers most of the unemployed population.. why cant ye understand the government doesnt have the money to pay ye the wages ye want... do you know what, its nearly getting to the stage that im actually ashamed to be half irish, between the football chiefs asking to be the 33rd team in the world cup, to this farce of a government, to these greedy public sector people who only think about themselves.. now i also must say that lots of the public sector are not paid a lot, and they should not have to take this cut.. it should be targeted at anyone earning over 35-40k in my opinion.. i do feel sympathy for those on low wages having to take the brunt of this cut.. and what i find the most disgraceful situation in the country is the ESB.. they are the highest paid electricity company in europe, also the irish electricity is the most expensive in europe and they also gave themselves a 3% pay rise a couple f months ago.. disgraceful.. are they not part of the commercial public sector?? they should be taking a big hit in my opinion... anyways, high earners in the public sector, SHAME ON YE!!! thumbs up nobody feels sorry for ye

Keeneland: The figures are an average D, so there will be people on less and people on more. I am argueing because there are people on here calling unemployed people lazy and saying there are jobs out there. Unemployement is at 12% and will hit 14% next year they reckon. To call these people lazy and tell them there is enough jobs out ther for everyone is just silly and it makes my blood boil.

Unemployment hit 27% in the late '80's when I got my job.
What's your point?

So you were lucky. You can't take one incident like you finding a job and say that is proof that there are jobs out there. FACT is unemployement is at 12%....are you saying that 12% could get a job if they looked hard enough?dunno

So all 12% Unemployed are losers? Why were they not losers when the country was booming. If they are just lazy surly they would not have bothered working then?

Did I say that??? Where?

Maybe it was because I can spell tongue

Or that I wasn't afraid to ask for a job.

Or that I applied for everything going, countrywide.

Or that I never gave up looking for a job.

Take your pick. Things were a lot worse then than they are now.

Sorry for the typo. I must be an idiot cause nobody but idiots have typos's do they? tongue

I have friends with kids and mortgages applying for over 200 jobs a week, countrywide and continant wide. They don't hear back from 99% of them and when they do get an interview they are up against 100 people.

You were lucky! I am lucky to have a job but i would never be so ignorant and disgusting as to call the 12% unempoyed at the moment lazy.

Have you not got a picket line to attend?tongue
