Genuinelass1: Hi, I've been on lots of dates and met a few nice guys, however they are either not interested in me or I just can't be bothered going through with long term dating thing with them, when we do work out , I find I look for a reason to not see them anymore?

Self-preservation, it sounds like to me. You are trying to protect yourself from being vulnerable and getting hurt. Thing is what you seek will probably not be found without taking some risks....
Have your wits about you, yes, there are some strange ones out there. But don't deny yourself the possibility of some wonderful opportunities?

your profile says looking for friends/hangout....if i saw this i would think (rightly or otherwise) that dating was out...and would move on.....
and regarding the long term dating......i know what you mean........my last relationship ended after 6 weeks.....but hang on in there....mr right could be just around the corner...
