I usually find if I cant fall asleep I get up & read or do something to just pass the time & try & make my mind less active

Yep, it is, but seeing as how you're awake anyway, I could use a sandwich.
If I can't sleep, I get up and do something, read, or get on here to pass the time. Eventually I get tired enough and pass out.
