I get my wisdom teeth taken out on Friday...anyone have any feedback? (56)
I did a few years ago.
Went to mom's so she could take care of me- fluffed my pillows, brought me water and dispensed the percodan....relatively pain-free.

i used to be a dental nurse.
when you have had the tooth out leave it for a while so it forms a clot. after a day start using salt water mouth mouth washes to try to prevent infection. if it starts getting really painful you may need need antibiotics and sometimes if the extraction is difficult they will give you a course of antibiotics anyway. goodluck, just remember keep it clean but let it form a clot first

If they do it right and there are no complications then it isn't alol that bad. They'll give you some pain pills for the first few days.
Just make sure you keep the area clean. Usually they tell you to rinse with salt water.

they dont give you pain pills here. they say take 2 paracetomal and ibrufon together if necessary

I'm getting all four out, yay!
I have been on antibiotics for about two weeks already because the gums had gotten very swollen around the two bottom wisdom teeth, the swelling has gone down dramatically, but the dentist told me that they will be problematic until i get them out, so Friday's the day! Thank you for your imput.

I already have some pain pills, so, that's covered. I will definitely make sure to keep the area very clean though...and rinse with salt water as well.

I was just wondering, for those who have had the pleasure of getting their wisdom teeth taken out, what is there to be expected? I gather pain for a couple of days, right? Anyone have any comments or suggestions?
